I am getting chills watching Pelosi and Schumer speaking right now: The country is in chaos. They are shaken by Mattis’ resignation. We ought to pray for our country.

Bob Corker assured us last year that Tillerson, Kelly and Mattis were protecting the US from chaos. So, I guess Chaos it is then.
What’s with this Turgidson nonsense?
General Ripper!
Get with it!
Can a general refuse a Secretary of Defense appointment?
Joyce Carol Oates (yes, the novelist) suggested on Twitter today that he does have one more piece of leverage:
I just want to say that this response to a typically idiotic Marco Rubio tweet is perhaps the greatest use of this meme ever.
I take that back. That Rubio tweet was excessively stupid, even for Marco Rubio.
Does she mean “resign if his wall is funded”? Otherwise I don’t get it.
Two other tidbits from today’s news
The toughened work requirement for Food assistance eligibility was removed from the farm bill. The administration is trying to do it by executive action. No work then starve - and your kids too.
The Pentagon has been asked to prepare a plan for troop drawdown from Afghanistan.
He could draft Stephen Miller and promote him…

We may not WANT it, but…
Right. It’s only Thursday. He hasn’t launched a nuclear missile yet.
I blame Jack Nicholson and Morgan Freeman for introducing the idea of the Bucket List into the cultural lexicon.

Well, he has to resign his commission in order to accept it, so, once he resigns the commission, he’s under no obligation to accept a damned thing.

Sorry, while I agree that that’s an awesome précis, I seem to have missed the stupid Rubio tweet that inspired it.
A little help?
Where will Trump find a General who is better aligned with him (now that Flynn is gone)?
Maybe we will get secretary Oliver North

What tweet are you looking at? I did see Just read Gen. Mattis resignation letter. It makes it abundantly clear that we are headed towards a series of grave policy errors which will endanger our nation, damage our alliances & empower our adversaries.

Looks like Rubio knows where the “delete” button is located.
The tweet I linked to was a reply to Marco Rubio. Here is the Rubio tweet:
“Gen.Mattis has served our nation with great distinction. He will not be easy to replace…”
So far, so good… let’s not fuck this up, Marco!
“…For the sake of our national security I hope his decision to resign was motivated solely by a desire to enjoy a well deserved retirement.”
YOU HAD ONE JOB!
The destruction of the Republican party was my thought for the only good thing to come out of election day 2016.
But what will replace it, the National Socialist American Workers party?
Probably, after losing their party of choice.
Interesting article on how much of a fucking scumbag Bob Goodlatte is with his oppressive policymaking in regards to native women.
What a vile, conniving POS…his last shitty thing before effing off.
Trump is saying it too:
Originally Tweeted by Trump:
General Jim Mattis will be retiring, with distinction, at the end of February, after having served my Administration as Secretary of Defense for the past two years. During Jim’s tenure, tremendous progress has been made, especially with respect to the purchase of new fighting equipment. General Mattis was a great help to me in getting allies and other countries to pay their share of military obligations. A new Secretary of Defense will be named shortly. I greatly thank Jim for his service!
That SOB! “Served my administration.” Sod off, you scum-sucking embarrassment. You might be “the president” but you certainly are not “a president”. A real president would have said (not tweeted) “served the United States” or “served our military” or “served his country” or something else intelligent.
Good grief. When, oh when will we be rid of Dinky Donnie?
