This was pretty much Trump’s only way of saving his dignity on this, and Pelosi slammed the door shut by dismissing it a priori. It’s like Trump set a trap, and then jumped into it and has no idea that he is even in there.
That wouldn’t be much different from what usually happens - members of the President’s own party wildly applaud every sentence, while the others sit there scowling.

Given what I know of the Pence’s (having lived with Pence as governor of my state) not only is that not surprising to me I’d be a bit shocked to hear that she was working at a school that didn’t ban homosexuals. Those two are serious about walking their talk.

Because, if so, then I don’t get why things are how they are; just have Nancy tell him to keep the shutdown going — and then have her demand that he nominate anyone other than Hillary Clinton the next time there’s a Supreme Court vacancy. And make sure to have her wag a finger at him and insist — insist — that he refuse to testify under oath. “And whatever you do, don’t apologize to Obama!”
