Wait. What?! You, sir (or madam) have crossed a line! It’s Duke’s or nothing. Have you no sense of decency, sir (or madam), at long last? Have you left no sense of decency?
Some Americans must believe and trust
our orange president,
when he excretes lies; I’m calling it just
“the doorhinge precedent”
as it is useful in marking fools
For though the language used to basely tweet
that dreck is purple
and braggadocious, lame - a graceless bleat
it marks the derpful
and shows them off as twitted tools
This is what some of us have been harping on from the beginning: “People do not appreciate how far we have fallen from normal standards of presidential accountability.” We’ve gotten used to it. What used to be outrageousand unthinkable is the New Normal. Hard to believe Obama was once raked over the coals for wearing a tan suit. :dubious:
*Title of The Atlantic article: “Every Day Is a New Low in Trump’s White House”
Don’t worry. It will be outrageous and unthinkable once a Democrat returns to the Oval Office. Tan suits and imperfect salutes will control Faux news cycles for weeks. Every punctuation error will be proof that the Democrat is unfit for office. Let’s not even imagine the outrage that will occur if the Democrat or his/her spouse exchanges pleasantries with the AG.
But, Chuck Grassley is praying that he sign it. If he doesn’t sign it, does that mean that Individual 1 is NOT God’s chosen, or that He doesn’t listen to Chuck Grassley?
Well, now Mitch the McConnell is on the Senate floor saying that Dotard will sign it and do the National Emergency bit, which Mitch… to no-ones surprise… has now decided he will support.
This is possibly the best possible outcome. Government stays open; no meaningful funding for his freaking wall. He declares an emergency which immediately is tied up in court forever. If somehow his grabbing of emergency power stands, then the next Democratic president can declare a Gun Control Emergency and a Global Warming Emergency. Win-Win. Other than living in a dictatorship, of course.
