“Coherent” does not belong in any sentence that includes Individual-1.
There’s a hilarious video of McConnell going on the Senate floor to announce the signing and likely emergency. It was apparently so important that he interrupted a speech by Chuck Grassley, which did not go over well. Grassley was not pleased at being interrupted, and said he would just put the rest of his speech into the record, and next time, he might be allowed to finish what he had to say.
Did I miss anyone posting about how his doctor claims he’s only gained 4lbs since last year?
4lb per inch, perhaps. He was not svelte in 2016 and is looking worse and worse.
And even though the official pronouncement is CLEARLY way too low at 243, at his professed height (which is too high) he is now technically obese on his own paperwork.

He claims to be 6’3", but next to a bunch of 6’2" and 6’3" people, he is visibly shorter. He’s even a smidge shorter than Obama (I think Obama is about 6’1¾"), which must just drive him crazier.
And then she showed how his campaign committee had photoshopped a meme they created of him so that he looked tidier, taller, and with long(er) fingers.
The man is mentally ill. It doesn’t seem to matter what it is, he lies. He lies about his height. He lies about his weight. He lies about the size of his hands. He lies about his net worth. He lies about contacts with Russia. Whether it’s something that can be proven wrong or not, he lies. If it’s something on which he *has *been proven wrong (inauguration crowd size, for example), he doubles and triples down with the lies. And we’re all becoming numb to it.
Then there is this Photoshop where his skin color matches the color around his eyes, no hair dye and no combover - you have been warned.
Oh, yes, I’ve seen that. He actually looks somewhat more human-like.
That is not Individual-1 on the right, it is clearly L. Ron Hubbard.
This is the danger: America is increasingly being sucked into a dangerous maelstrom of oligarchal corruption. It’s happening right now, before our very eyes.
Oh, I dunno; how about “Individual-1 didn’t realize until it was too late that the structures on the heads of the sharks surging toward him were emitting coherent light aimed straight for his covfefe.”
Can’t be. L Ron Hubbard’s has been dead for 30 years. Although now that you mention it maybe it is.

Actually, I think he does want the wall built… eventually. He desperately wants a legacy which is why I have suggested a Potemkin wall and/or changing the ICE and Border Patrol SWAT jackets to say TRUMP on the back.

Actually moving them into the military could be problematic (posse comitatus and what not), but it could work.
The wall distracts us from the broader significance of what’s really happening, which is the disruption of the federal government - something that plays into the hands of global kleptocrats. The struggle we have now is to preserve a government that continues to serve the public and letting it devolve into something that serves primarily the interests of a corrupt elite class.
NPR this morning is reporting that he is likely to use funds allocated for construction and renovation of military bases. Probably because it’s harder to stop him from misusing those funds. It’ll be fun to see how the propagandists try to spin that.
The reporting last night is that he did this because he had gotten an agreement by Trump, but was concerned that Trump would back out of it. So, this was to lock Trump into his decision.
Apparently during his press conference today (I haven’t watched it) to declare a National Emergency at the southern border, Trump admitted that it wasn’t really an emergency.
More evidence of how easy it is to goad and manipulate him.
Trump simply cannot admit he’s wrong or failed at anything. He didn’t get his way with congress, and he won’t be able to get funding in the future. He knows this, but to acknowledge it is a failure. So, he declares the National Emergency to get his money, but still has to say that he’d be able to get his money from congress because he’s the master negotiator and always wins in the end. He just can’t realize the damage he does to his case to satisfy his ego.
