That’s the standard Conservative strategy: cut taxes, let the debt & deficit go up, then use that as an excuse to cut government spending.
Personally, I was hoping Thump the wonder president would be put in the Hanoi Hilton for at least 5 or 6 years, or however long POWs were held in that prison.

Wolf Blitzer is reporting the Trump personally overruled the professional recommendations that Jared Kushner not be given a top-secret clearance so Kushner could have one.
Even John Kelly wrote a memo at the time stating he was ordered to do this and McGahn opposed it, too.
Of course, Trump stated in a previous interview that he didn’t involve himself in Kushner’s clearance.

Previous reports claimed it was a supervisor at the White House that had approved them. Ivanka says Kushner and her were given “no special treatment”:

And when it’s pointed out that the deficit fell dramatically under Obama, we’re told “Nothing to do with him - that would have happened anyway”)
