The Trump Administration: A Clusterfuck in the Making

I can’t wait for

“It’s not a crime if the president* does it”

  • (or the president’s children, or anyone the president approves of today, or when the president was a candidate)

Sure, but with the resources of the POTUS at his disposal, I am a little surprised he doesn’t pivot to something more substantial as the report nears release. From my POV, the Trumpers I work with are not flat earth dumb, mostly they hated Hillary, and I will be surprised again if they swallow the party line.

It says to me he’s got nothing, and is pretty much fucked.

I guess Trump was watching his ball-nuzzler Jim Jordan on Hannity last night:

FISA court was duped into issuing warrant, Rep. Jim Jordan tells Sean Hannity

Of course, the FISA warrant originated with George Papadopoulos’s drunken bragging to an Australian diplomat about dirt on Hillary, I believe. The warrant was also renewed several times by Republican-appointed judges.

Does it matter one iota who ordered the dossier or why, if the facts in it are verifiable and criminal ? (This is a rhetorical question. I know it doesn’t. Pound the facts, pound the table, etc…)

When Trump assumed office, I was hoping that exposure to what goes on behind the scenes would properly educate him. I thought he’d see that his predecessor had struggled with all sorts of mitigating factors before making a decision, and he’d see that Washington insiders weren’t the same as local struggling NY businessmen he could bulldoze. I thought he’d see that “Gosh, maybe the reason I can’t get any congressional support is because they’re concerned about their own agendas, and that’s going to involve some constructive dealmaking on my part.” I thought he’d realize there was a lot more to running the country than he realized.

Nope. None of that ever happened. He got stupider. Despite having enough resources to know everything there is to know, he ignores it all and sticks with whatever he thinks at the moment is true.

He did. Problem is, he doesn’t give a shit.

It got him the presidency, why stop now?

Ahahahahahahahahahaha!
Look in the mirror! :stuck_out_tongue:

Because after 4 years, too many people will see through the schtick? Because treating the Justice Department like it is just another one if his hookers, gagged by an NDA, is going to fly like a lead zeppelin?

Just spit balling here…

Wrong album, wrong band, and it’s “go to the mirror.” ::cool:

The Trump strategy for survival: pound the conspiracy theories (FISA warrants! Steele dossier! Hillary! Benghazi!) and wait for the military/police/Bikers for Trump coup to rescue him.

There are 2 paths you can go by; but in the long run there’s still time to change the road you’re on. Prophetic!

More like, "it’s not a crime if you don’t get caught, and since I wasn’t caught while committing it. It doesn’t count. "

I specifically meant Revelations. I’ve visited the cave where St. John is said to have lived while he wrote it and the high probability of ergot in the bread is actually mentioned as part of the site’s setup.

It would help explain things, although I do have several relatives who can be that eye-crossing while sober.

Choose your clichés carefully

Posts like that are why this message board really sucks sometimes

Sorry. You never know what might randomly trigger someone.

I like it. By the way, have you noticed how often the magats call the Democrats and Liberals “communist” "or “socialist”. Yet red is the color of the flag of communism!

Why would you have thought that? That jackass was not an unknown. That is exactly how he was known to be doing everything he did. The only surprise is the extremes to which he is beholden to other criminal types, not his absolute inability to function in a rational manber.

At today’s big veto ceremony, Vice President Michael Pence beamed his doe-eyed and shiny-faced admiration to Dear Leader in front of the cameras: “I don’t know that I’ve ever been more proud than to be standing next to you today.”

Someone’s gettin’ a reach-around tonight!

I am genuinely baffled when people advance the Pence Will Be Worse™ theory.

Presidents who are despised by 90%* of the population do not have bases, and therefore receive no deference from Congress, and therefore are mostly powerless.

  • I am using a very generous estimate of the number of evangelical Christians who actually like and admire Pence.

To be fair, I think he is suffering from dementia. But that doesn’t excuse him for being an immoral sociopath. He needs to rot in prison with the legal minimum amount of healthcare. Nor does it excuse his enablers. They need to rot in prison for decades.
