The Trump Administration: A Clusterfuck in the Making

In my opinion, no, you were not wrong. Trump is an evil, cruel, stupid person, and anyone who cannot see this is (at best) a deluded fool, and most likely agrees with Trump’s cruelty, evilness and stupidity.

Also, pardon me for misspelling hypocrisy in my post.

Anyhow… he claimed that I had caused him a lot of sadness, anxiety, stress, anger, and depression because of what I had said , and that he is not the person that I said he was in my email.

But you know, folks, it’s pretty hard to believe that, given the people that he admires and supports…Trump, Cruz, Palin, Carlson, Bachman, and so on.

I believe that you can tell a lot about people by the ones they admire.

Add me to the chorus of “I don’t think you were”. One of the characteristics which seem to be necessary in order to be a true Trumpist is a lack of self-awareness and empathy: your former acquaintance appears to fit the type just fine.
Dude A: “all those refugees should just go back to wherever they’re from!”
Dude B: “dude, they can’t. If they could do it with any kind of hopes of having a decent life there, they would. I think what you just said isn’t very smart.”
Dude A: “How dare you!!!11!!!”

No, you spoke the truth. And he’s a butthurt hypocrite - if all that is “just” petty politics and stupid things that don’t matter how could talking about them “hurt him to his core”?

But not nearly sad, anxious, stressed, angered, and depressed as the family of the woman killed by a wannabe nazi or the people injured by the same guy driving over peaceful demonstrators, or the parents separated from their kids at the border who may never see them again, or any of the other people hurt by the actions of this administration.

Loser Donald visits Mount Vernon, says he could have built it better and cheaper, and that George Washington was dumb for not naming it after himself.

I’m kinda fascinated by how quickly he went from “doing God’s work” to “petty politics and stupid things”. I had no idea God was such a micro-manager.

That’s…not an Onion article or an April Fool’s joke. Sweet Jesus.

And yet he’s right. After all, who even remembers the name of the guy who built Mount Vernon?

Washington who? :smack:

It could be that the purpose of your life is only to serve as a warning to others.

Make no mistake Trump. You will be remembered.

Yeah, because Nobody today remembers Washington, but Admiral Edward Vernon is a household name.

Although definitely not a household name in the US today, Admiral Vernon is pretty well known to historians. And he’s probably the reason that the word “Grog” exists.

(emphasis added)
Yes.

What you said wasn’t the problem. If you are already on the outs with the person, don’t get into an email exchange with him about this shit. It’s just further proof that this is someone you need to excise from your life. Are you sending emails to every fascist idiot who goes on about Dumb Mussolini-lite is doing whomever’s work? Did you think you were going to change his mind?

These fascists are delusional. Sadly, we have found that this mass delusion reaches much farther than any rational person is comfortable with. Don’t wrestle with a pig; you’ll both get dirty but the pig will enjoy it.

I like how one commenter defended Trump by saying Trump was only joking:

“Oh, waaah. He was joking. The problem is you people can’t control your own abject hatred long enough to recognize humor when it happens. He was joking, you humorless scold.”

Yes, Trump is well known for his historical knowledge and insightful wit, and obviously was using his comedic prowess to make an ironic joke.

I suspect it’s more likely that commenter isn’t too bright him/herself and can’t tell the difference between humor and stupidity. Some true MAGA believers seem to think Trump can do no wrong, so ignorance becomes sly sarcastic humor.

Another commenter noted the Trump spokespeople and supporters were always having to say “he was joking” or “what he meant to say was” to explain the stupid shit Trump is always spewing. Trump makes W. Bush look like Daniel Webster.

Regarding that, does Trump ever joke? I can’t remember a time when he joked or laughed. Even smiles seem rare for him.

Trump is the joke, and not a very good one.

He cracked a joke once at some function about his wife stealing Michelle Obama’s speech. It actually wasn’t terrible. I can’t imagine that it was his material.

This is news?

No, the news is that he has just declared that anybody with ties to the IRG is a terrorist. So, he’s just called himself a terrorist, which isn’t quite the same as anybody who’s been paying attention knowing that he’s the kind of guy whose biggest regret after selling his own mother would be if he later found out he could get more by renting.

The MAGAts were whooshed on the paunchline.

You can, indeed.

That doesn’t mean that Trump supporters are all 100% bad - I won’t deny that they have some good qualities, can be friendly under most circumstances, and love their children, too.

None of that good erases the fact that they knowingly support a person who is trying to reverse decades of progress in terms of creating a more inclusive society. What it tells me is that they simply don’t want their America to be inclusive or to be fair. They want it for themselves.

Fuck that, and fuck them. I’ve no time for that shit.

I believe the standard conservative response to such a complaint is “Fuck your feelings”? Oh right, it’s different when it’s their feelings that are hurt.

If Trump supporters don’t like being associated with racism, bigotry and cruelty in the minds of their former friends, then they should stop promoting and enabling racism, bigotry and cruelty. So many of them seem to expect that they should be able to support totally vile and irresponsible political shenanigans without any pushback at all from people they know.
