What you want is for a majority of Americans to care. Unfortunately, they don’t. In fact, Trump’s approval rating is probably as high now as it has ever been. Your anger is at your fellow America, who is much more interested in watching Game of Thrones or some other form of entertainment than they are politics. The question is, who would actually make someone comply with a request and actually enforce a lawsuit. That’s why suing Mnuchin might work because the courts might well say that Congress doesn’t really need a legislative purpose provided it is suing pursuant to the Act. The litigation would take a while, but that’s their best bet if they insist on having Trump’s tax returns. Congress gave itself that power in response to a presidential scandal, so it would be stunning if the Courts then claimed executive privilege.
