You realize it’s not about the monetary value of the gift, right? You were just being funny. Hehe. Louis Comfort Tiffany was a renowned American designer and artist and the brooch was a very appropriate gift. More appropriate than Donnie was capable of coming up with on his own. Coincidence with the name of thump’s daughter-- maybe.

Wasn’t even an attempt at being that clever. I’ve seen a zillion stories and pictures of the Royal Jewels and thought, “Like she has any use for yet another brooch.”

Give her something she might enjoy. I’ve read she likes to work jigsaw puzzles. Or a tub of special doggy biscuits baked by the White House chefs. Something like that.

But, yeah, I know it’s all ceremonial and the gifts must be ‘appropriate.’ So sad. Condemned to a lifetime of getting the equivalent of new underwear and a savings bond each birthday.

Trump is abusing and misusing a law that was designed to give the president the power to impose sanctions on state-sponsored terrorism. Our international trade policy is solely in the hands of an idiot who doesn’t understand what tariffs mean.

And not a peep out of Congress. This is horrifying.

I stand corrected! Senate Republicans have let it be known that they would vote to disapprove Mexican tariffs, with a veto-proof majority. Apparently they found their balls, on an issue in which Trump is entirely on his own without a single ally.

Watching Trump try to walk back from the shit-show he started could be awesome.
