The Trump Administration: A Clusterfuck in the Making

Actually all that Tiffany brooch/flight jacket/James Doolittle’s autobiography stuff was just fake newsy shenanigans. The prez actually bequeathed upon QEII the finest in absorbent, softest paper towelage that unfortunately she wasn’t quick enough to catch when a roll was chucked at her.

Great motorcade photo. Love to have heard his observations while driving down the basically empty streets.

Isn’t Canada a bigger trade partner?

For all I know they could be - I know they’re up there. I was going off of an article I read recently.

Yay! Despite the White House grousing “don’t do it!”, Hope Hicks is actually stepping up to the plate and will be handing over campaign documents to Congress.
How nasty of her to flout executive privilege! Nasty woman.
More testes than McGahn has, I guess.

ETA: Heh - Manafort soon to get transferred to Rikers. Unfortunately, though, in isolation.

I wouldn’t necessarily say that. He’s just a self promoter with no intrinsic morals. Dershowitz’s problem is that he wrote a book called “The case against impeaching Hillary Clinton” back in 2016. Which under the circumstances made a lot of sense. The inevitable impeachment of Clinton that would have started February 2017, would have been unfounded and clearly not what was intended by the constitution. Unfortunately Trump won making the whole book irrelevant. So to salvage the situation he changed the picture on cover and did a find and replace of Trump for Clinton throughout the text. Now to keep up book sales he’s stuck defending the indefensible.

I haven’t heard a single person come to the defense of Mexican tariffs who doesn’t work in the executive branch. This is as close to an easy call for McConnell as it gets - literally the only person who’ll be pissed off is Trump, and I don’t think McConnell cares too much what he thinks.

McConnell has all the leverage right now; Trump is just an empty windbag shouting “tariffs!”

More on that:

“Paul Manafort to Be Sent to Rikers, Where He Will Be Held in Isolation”

The problem that Cocaine Mitch and his party have created for themselves is that they have sided with Trump’s Mexico and Mexican bashing. They might understand that it’s dangerous for Trump to follow through with his tariff threat, but many of his followers who are addicted to conservative media may not.

Where the wine list is atrocious, and the chef has yet to make a decent white sauce.

Does “our” refer to the US or Michigan?

Just a random thought:

In my fantasy cast for the inevitable movie- Peter Lorre as George Nader (yes I know he’s dead; that’s why it’s a fantasy cast).

And the thought that comforts me is imagining Trump’s life after he inevitably leaves office, even if he gets a second term. Sure he’ll get a deal for a (ghostwritten) book and a library but I don’t think he really cares about those. What will make him crazy is that nobody is going to want to do business with him, but even worse, nobody will be talking about him. He won’t be on the news because let’s be honest, even Fox will have no use for him once he has no power. He’s not going to be seen as some elder statesman and people won’t be lining up to pay him for speeches. He will go from the most talked about person in the world to a virtual nonentity and the drop will be massive.

“Jared Kushner, a senior advisor in the White House (and, coincidentally, the president’s son-in-law)”

Using this definition: “the occurrence of events that happen at the same time by accident but seem to have some connection”, I don’t think that’s a coincidence.

Although, Kushner’s just as incompetent as other senior officials and Cabinet members like Carson, Davos, Perry,.., so maybe he would have been hired anyway.

I was under the impression that campaign documents wouldn’t be covered by executive privilege because Trump wasn’t the executive yet. But I may be off on this.

One talking head on cable was wondering why an ex-employee like Hope Hicks would still possess official White House documents (which could fall under privilege) in the first place.

Nah, Nadler would be better served by Robert Blake or Morey Amsterdam.

George Nader, not Jerry Nadler.

:smack: Ok - change that to Jonah Hill or Boris Epshteyn.

I stick with Lorre. Who else could do justice to a creepy serial child pornographer and molester who will sell out the US to the highest paying country, then flip and sell out everyone he knows at the first whiff of danger? This guy has to be one of the worst in this entire CF.

I have no idea which thread it goes in. The latest from POTUS on climate change, from an interview with Piers Morgan::

What a strange little man he is.

It’s the 'good people on both sides" bullshit rewrapped for another situation. The dumbfuck knows just a little about greenhouse gas. Just enough to think of the atmosphere. And when discussing climate change, he talks about the atmosphere. Because like his supporters, he is a fucking clown.

A while back, I mentioned my idea for the library. Cheap and simple, and demonstrates all the respect that should be shown to this former president’s oeuvre. All of thump’s tweets, documents, blahblahblah, will go on a flash drive that will be put in an empty Altoids tin, sealed with duck tape, and locked in the janitor’s closet at Trump Tower.

The weather changes both ways?? What the hell does that even MEAN? :smack:

Note to the next head of state meeting Trump: a weather station. But not one of those newfangled ones, with digital that not even Einstein would understand: go traditional.

(As of when I linked it: traditional hygrometer where the friar’s arm points to a different word depending on relative humidity; the same, but depending on the humidity you get different figures outside the house; to see what the weather is like, check the donkey’s tail; a figure painted with cobalt salts which again acts as a hygrometer).
