It’s a fair cop, as far as the exact quote is concerned (I’d heard it attributed to Johnson). Wilbur Ross says the Census Bureau will go ahead without the citizenship question.
The Justice Department confirmed to Newsweek that the 2020 census would proceed without a citizenship question.
Individual 1 tweeted he would consider delaying the census count, but Justice Department officials said that would not be legally possible.
Individual 1 says stories about the Census Bureau going ahead without the citizenship question is fake news.
Why not both? It’s his way of saying “My imaginary friend respects me”.
The thing is that the damage has been done. People in immigrant communities, undocumented and otherwise, are apprehensive enough that there’s going to be an undercount. And that will help Republicans.

I really hope the twerp fails to conduct the census.
That would be an interesting constitutional crisis. Is he impeachable for failing to execute a constitutionally mandated process? Or is gross incompetence enough?
He’s also fond of having the made-up people in his stories call him “Mr. Trump”.
Impeachable by whom? This Senate would never convict him for something so minor. Or for anything major, for that matter.
