If Trump wants to see a stupid, pompous fool, he only needs to look in the mirror. Unfortunately, Trump can’t figure out how to talk over the guy he sees there, the one that won’t shut up while he’s talking.

Of course the British ambassador is pompous. He’s British. Next Trump is going to try and burn the French ambassador for being arrogant and the Russian ambassador for being coldly calculating.

The article points out that that is pretty much Trump’s standing against any opponent - he always polls (up to this point) at around 40%-42%. I find the last two paragraphs rather interesting (and comforting):

In addition to having a slight edge over Trump already, Rapinoe has a lot more room for growth. The voters who are undecided in the Rapinoe/Trump head to head voted for Hillary Clinton by 58 points and just 8% of them approve of the job Trump is doing to 82% who disapprove. They’re likely undecided either because they’re not familiar with Rapinoe or aren’t sure about her as a Presidential candidate, but given their past voting history and feelings about Trump, it seems unlikely they’ll end up in his camp.

Rapinoe may be an unlikely Presidential candidate but her numbers still speak to a broader truth about Trump’s standing- the fact that he polls in the low 40s against any Democrat he gets tested against shows that electability concerns are overrated and Democrats should feel comfortable voting for the candidates they like the best, not just the ones they think have the best chance of beating Trump.

First off, the women did WIN. Second, it’s not “our Country, the White House, or our Flag” that Rapinoe doesn’t respect–it’s you, Trump, because you’re a bigot who’s too dim-witted to have a substantive conversation with about the issues that concern her.

Women see a familiar, ghastly pattern in the Trump White House

You’ve seen this before. A man associated with President Trump — his former White House staff secretary Rob Porter, Republican Senate candidate Roy Moore, Justice Brett M. Kavanaugh and Labor Secretary Alexander Acosta — is part of a story in which women or girls were allegedly abused, mistreated and/or sexually molested. There was pictorial evidence Porter abused his spouse. There were multiple, credible accounts of women who claimed Moore abused them as girls. Kavanaugh was accused of sexual assault by Christine Blasey Ford (who told witnesses about the allegation years earlier). Acosta’s plea deal for Jeffrey Epstein was widely criticized by those involved in the case and was illegally crafted in secret to avoid allowing witnesses to know and object.

Trump comes out with a variety of excuses to the men: He was “no fan” of Epstein. Acosta’s deplorable plea deal that allowed Epstein to escape justice was a long time ago. Moore denied the claims. Kavanaugh denied the claims.

Trump expresses appreciation for the accused man. Porter and Acosta were doing a great job, you see. Trump calls evidence from female witnesses “fake news” or claims eyewitness testimony (even by multiple witnesses) is not “corroborated” (as if that were a defense anyway). He says the males were treated very unfairly. Trump suggests the great risk is not that men like Kavanaugh (rich, white lawyers) are held accountable for their crimes but that women make false claims (which make up a tiny percentage of cases in sex crimes, no higher than false reports for other crimes). Trump does not expresses horror, concern or sympathy for the women involved.

Well, this is one area where Trump has outdone Bill Clinton. MAGA!!!

Did you know the forest floors are dirty? And I bet the leaves are a hundred feet high in places since no one cleans them up. The answer, of course, is forest management. What a concept! It’s hard to believe no one understood that until now.

Donald "Sir" Trump:

You can’t have 20 years of leaves and fallen trees. After the first 17 months, they say the tree is like a piece of tinder. You have to be very careful. So you can’t have that. And I will say this: Spoke with the Governor of California, spoke with many people, and the process of cleaning is now really taking precedent. It — a lot of people are looking at forest management. It’s a word that people didn’t understand last year. Now they’re getting it. And you don’t have to have any forest fires. It’s interesting.

I spoke to certain countries, and they said, “Sir, we’re a forest nation.” I never thought of a country — well-known countries: “We’re a forest nation.” I never heard of the term “forest nation.” They live in forests and they don’t have problems.

One was telling me that his trees are much more susceptible to fire than what they have in California, but they don’t have fires because they manage, they clean, they do what you have to do. There’s not so much to burn. And we’re going to start doing that. And it’s called, remember, “management.” It’s called “forest management.” So it’s a very important term.

When I went to California, they sort of scoffed at me for the first two weeks and maybe three weeks, and not so much — four weeks. (Laughter.) And after about five weeks they said, “You know, he’s right. He’s right.”

Maybe he should put together a work force to manage the forests. Create more jobs! Call it the Forest Service or something. Hey - Forest Force!
