Pence could never win in 2020, so we could at least be sure that the damage isn’t going to continue for another four years. (And the House would have at least some degree of check on him, too.)
95% certain that would be 2 more Democratic Senators, so bring it on. Based on the understanding that the average conservative European politician thinks Bernie leans a bit right-wing.
Why not?
America says, “Hold my beer.”
His personality too bland to be the focus of the kind of cult that The Donald is. He’s too much of a prude to grab his followers by the balls. (Maybe with gloves on?.. no) He’s not a Reality TV Personality-- flamboyant, over-the-top. DJT says the racist, mean, cruel things that his MAGAbots think and frankly, that many Republicans think, but Pence would not grandstand and show off in that way. As someone said, he’s a “normal” Republican (not a compliment).
Yep, the Oval Office should not be run like a mob protection racket (pay up or we will make it worse for you). Take the sumbitch down. It must be shown that we will not stand for criminal imbeciles in the highest office in the land. Then we can start working on the Senate.
This too, ThelmaLou.
If Pence is the nominee there is a sizable number of current Trump supporters who will believe that Pence was part of a coup. Hell, depending on how it all shakes out, it just may be.
It just hit me! We buy Greenland. Convert it into Westworld type place. Outlaw guns on the mainland, and have all the guns rights dorks go to Greenworld ™ when they wanna live out their wild west shoot out fantasies.
Anyone have Jared’s email address so I can submit my proposal and get the ball rolling on this thing?
Tom Cotton (R - Noah’s Ark) now claims that buying Greenland was his idea, and that anyone who disagrees “is blinded by Trump derangement”.
Nice way to go, there, poisoning the well of debate pre-emptively like that. But if you seriously wanted to explore the concept of getting hold of Greenland, you approached it with all the care and subtlety of a psycho with a sledgehammer in a china shop*. Among other things, asking Denmark about it before talking to the folks in Greenland is kinda like talking to your prospective date’s father before asking her out.
*Mythbusters already showed us that bulls in china shops are surprisingly careful and docile. I’d trust a bull in my china shop before I’d trust Trump there.
I saw that episode and I was surprised and impressed by how nimble the bull was, moving quickly around and between the shelves without touching any of them. I’ve seen housecats that were lummoxi in comparison.
Lummoxen?
Yes, exactly, this.
I guess the question is, what’s worth - effective awful within normal parameters, or only somewhat effective awful outside those limits. I feel like it was pretty reasonable to argue in 2017 or so that Trump wouldn’t push those limits so hard, or that he would be very ineffective, but at this point… Nah. I’ll take a Bush-esque administration over this any day.
Given that the meaning of “normal” has changed to something essentially unrecognizable to us, I think “without (currently) normal parameters” might well be a step forward.
That’s “Mother” Pence’s job.
I’ve posted on here somewhere before that climate deniers such as fossil fuel companies, their lobbyists, and the lawmakers-in-their-pocket may deny global warming in public, but I suspect they’re actually counting on it to open up drilling sites in the Arctic, such as in Alaska and northern Russia (and why not Greenland?).
It similar to the tobacco companies denying smoking causes cancer because they needed new customers as their product killed their existing customers. Oil companies continually need new drilling sites. Trump may actually believe global warming is a Chinese hoax because he’s a dunce and it fits his victimhood world view, but I doubt the oil companies do.
Although, IIRC, one of Trump’s golf courses in Scotland applied for a permit/waiver to build a seawall to protect the course from potential rising sea levels caused by global warming.
The Dow is below 26,000 again – so it’s poised to close above the 26,000 threshold for approximately the 8th time in the Trump Administration…hopefully.
I’ve been holding America’s beer since 2016.
Puerto Rico might prefer to be traded for Greenland.
I like to be in Denmark!
O.K. by me in Denmark!
Everything free in Denmark
For a small fee in Denmark!
I’m impressed; I’m lucky to hold my beer for 30 minutes. You know what they say: you don’t buy beer, you just rent it.
I’m even more impressed by this. You’re very pretty and witty and bright!
When You’re America’s beer holder, you’re America’s beer holder all the way.
