It must be wonderful to be free of both self-awareness and shame. If I had made a fool of myself in public like Trump has so many times, I would crawl under my duvet and never come out again.
But, the scary thing is that in Trump’s mind he’s the smartest, most competent, most successful person in the history of the planet.
Unfortunately, his narcissism, ignorance, and increasing dementia is going to have lasting detrimental global effects, both geopolitically and environmentally.
An interesting question is how much of his bullshit does he actually believe and how much is feral conman cunning to manipulate his base for reelection? Which he may realize on some level is the only thing that may keep him out of prison once he’s out of office.

Well, to steal from and paraphrase some pundit I saw/ read somewhere recently (and I should try to find the cite to give due credit):
Trump apparently no longer has functioning long-term memory.
Among other declining mental abilities.
But, as I asked above, how much is this is self-serving in regards to his base? I suspect some of his base think hurricanes devasting the coastal “elites” are somehow God’s plan, but tornados in the prairie Plains are just nature.
Although, doesn’t the “elitism” on the East Coast begin in Northern Virginia and head north up to New England?
I’m beginning to realize that some times that’s an insult to goldfishes.
Don’t those idiots realize that the ‘elites’ suffer LEAST when bad things happen? They have the money and resources to save themselves, ameliorate anything bad that happens, fix/repair/replace/rebuild anything destroyed. It’s the people who are barely making it under normal condition who have their lives turned upside down. 
I’m guessing the best that a goldfish can do is learn to swim to the top of the bowl when the fish food container appears, and Trump is probably conditioned to salivate when he sees a McDonald’s logo, so they’re in the same ballpark intelligence-wise.
