The Trump Administration: A Clusterfuck in the Making

What we really need is someone who can control the orange pest.

They can’t even redo it so the circle is all white? They don’t have that technology?

I read somewhere that Dotard drew the line his very own self.

Nitpicking but Schumer is a Senator. He doesn’t have a district. Senators represent their entire state.

It looks like it was drawn by a child, with a crayon.

Or what **JohnT **said.

This is just laugh-out-loud stupid. The only way for Trump to top this is for him to invite the press into his bathroom, show them a turd in the toilet, and declare “I did that! I did a good poopy!”

Jesus! At some point, are the Republicans embarrassed? At all?

Actual costs are probably closer to a few hundred dollars per foot. The rest is for Trump’s pocket, and for the creation of oligarchs who will do anything and everything to make sure Trump stays in office (and the graft continues to flow).

With Trump, we can’t just accept his claim. I’d want to send it out for testing.

It is the perfect storm. A moron supported by morons.

The amount of hot air will do great damage to the USA. That much he has correct.

Yes, of course. My bad.

Note that the NPR story in the link also refers to Schumer’s “district”.

I caught some of Trump’s hurricane rambling while I was at home for lunch and I was wondering why they kept showing a map of Dorian’s projected path from two weeks ago. It didn’t make sense, but it’s Trump so I didn’t put any thought into it. Looks like I can still be surprised at the lengths he will go to to prove he is “right”. There is something seriously wrong with that man and the people enabling him.

Actually…why was Trump even doing this at all? Presidents who generally know what they’re talking about don’t feel compelled to talk about hurricanes while pointing to maps – that’s what we have NOAA for.

I’m sure I can answer my own question, though, and it involves the phrase “doubling down”.

There is no way he is more than average IMO. He has likely played a lot over the years so maybe he is around average if all the practice has helped him improve, but there’s just no way he is or ever was at a professional level. This is just part and parcel of his claims to be the best at everything even though he doesn’t study, read, research, exercise, or do anything that would require more mental or physical effort than it takes to walk to the toilet and tweet at the same time. And since he lies and cheats about absolutely everything, it’s pretty sure he’s never played a game where he didn’t cheat.

Surely he could have skimmed a little dough from somewhere more important to hire a professional photoshopper to make that weather map look more official. It’s actually kind of interesting to me that his aides and abetters allowed him to go before the press with that sad little display. I wonder if even they realized it wouldn’t be acceptable to alter an official NOAA forecast.

I’ve wondered the same thing.

A couple of possibilities.

  1. They are as stupid as he is.
  2. They are happy to let him make an ass out himself.
  3. They are afraid to try to correct him. They understand it wouldn’t do any good and he’ll just make an ass out himself anyway (and they’ll lose their 6 figure gig).

I suspect it is a combination of all of the above. They can’t ALL be as stupid as he is, the odds are against it.

  1. Trump’s original attempt was far worse and what we saw represents several hours of efforts by people on his staff to make it look better.

That’s possible too. The circle did include a part of Alabama and I doubt Trump would be able to manage that.

  1. They all have grasping career goals and crushing student loan debt. He tells them what, and they only ask how high and what color. They lose this job, they’re boned.

Trump doesn’t cheat in the way normal people cheat. Normal people are aware that the other players won’t let them cheat so they have to figure out clever ways to cheat that the other players won’t detect. Trump just declares that ten strokes was five strokes. The people he’s playing with know he’s lying but they won’t argue with him. Trump’s version of cheating is to only play with people who will accept his cheating.

I think Trump’s problem is that he’s used to being in ponds small enough that he can feel like a big fish. He’s always made sure to surround himself by people who are weaker than he is. So he’s always been able to say or do whatever he wants and nobody is able to call him on it.

This has handicapped him. He’s never had to learn how to outsmart people or convince people or cajole people or even trick people. He literally doesn’t know how to handle people who disagree with him.

<channeling Trump, maybe> I love that black sharpie. It’s the only black thing I actually like. I sign all my executive orders with it. It’s my security sharpie, and it makes everything great and beautiful and big. Big is beautiful. Black is beautiful, too, if it’s my Sharpie. </cT, m>

Trump has tweeted a new map:

Not unexpectedly, people are suspicious about whether this new map he’s tweeted is legit.
