Yeah, methinks that somebody who wears an explosive suicide vest around and blew himself up is not the type to go whimpering and crying. I mean, fuck the guy, glad he’s dead, but that bit of description was obviously story-spinning wish-fulfillment bullshit coming from Trump.
Among the many mistakes Trump has made was starting a war with the media. While Trump and his followers have complained all along about the media, the reality is that the media went easy on him at the beginning. But Trump kept attacking the media until they got fed up and decided to stop pitching him softballs.

Then why is the media still only reporting the stories Trump wants reported? For example, how much did the mainstream media talk about investigations into Hillary’s e-mail scandal ending without finding any wrongdoing? Or the Senate investigation finding that Russia did interfere with the 2016 election? Instead they were busy repeating Trump’s responses to the impeachment inquiry.
I would like to see just one reporter, when the President is talking about tariffs, ask him straight up “Do you really believe that China is paying the tariffs?”

Nonsense. If the media was “only reporting the stories Trump wants reported” they wouldn’t be reporting all these stories that reveal how dumb he is. They’d bury the details when he screws up.
Instead of reporting “Trump says US is building a wall in Colorado - a state that doesn’t border Mexico” (an actual CNN headline) they’d report “President Trump delivers a speech on his border security proposals”. Both headlines are accurate - but one makes him look like an idiot and the other conceals it.
Obviously - “Never pick a fight with someone who buys ink by the barrel”. But still, in practice the “liberal bias” media hardly opposed him even as he kept screaming* Lügenpresse!*. It took 3 years, but it feels like they’re starting to get the message about this being a war ; and not just a war against Trump personally but an ethical battleground - and very realistically speaking, from their point of view, an existential threat.
Or that Obama never wore an explosive vest.
