The Trump Administration: A Clusterfuck in the Making

And he’s declared himself a Florida man, too, so he can’t go home again.

I would never wish a sitting US president dead. But I will say I would dance and piss on Chump’s grave simultaneously given half a chance.

To paraphrase Clarence Darrow: ‘I’ve never wished a man dead, but I have read some obituary notices with great satisfaction.’

Out of curiosity, I put on a pair of vinyl gloves, attached a clothespin to my nose, and went over to Twitter to check out the Real soon-to-be-ex’s thread. There have been a steady stream of tweets criticizing and insulting the Democrats, but they’re strangely passionless and subdued. Mostly spelled correctly, not an excessive use of exclamation points. They’re sort of robotic. I wonder if he’s in an induced coma and a computer is sending them?

There is video of Individual 1 being hustled into an SUV hunched over and looking ill on the way to the hospital. Are there any videos of him arriving back at the White House?

I’m fully aware of where I’m bound — and have my asbestos undies packed and ready to go — so it’s no surprise that the current speculation made the following (imaginary) exchange at Cancer Central pop into my mind:

Holy crap, there is a guy? I wonder where they found the poor sad schlub.

(and, has Pence ever been to Africa?)

He’s the Cowardly Tin Scarecrow.

Exactly. It’s a witch-hunt.

You are wrong. Toto was loyal.

I would agree with you except for the lid today, and another lid for tomorrow. That’s not normal.

Huh.

Wasn’t impeachment supposed to be good for Trump? Wasn’t the entire GOP inviting impeachment, because it was going to be the great thing to ensure Trump would be reelected?

He should be glowing with very stable good health (the best health ever!), shouldn’t he?

Goodness. WaPo quoted the press secretary Stephanie What’s-Her-Name as saying he’s fine, great, blahblahblah, but the reader comments beg to differ. Over two thousand of them ain’t buyin’ it. Very interesting.

Karen Tumulty, Washington Post columnist:

James Fallows, Twitter person:

Trump has been busy tweeting today, although (from a couple of days ago)…

Zeke Miller, AP:

While we’re on the subject, I’ve never heard of “lid” as referring to a day off or a day free from appointments. Where does that come from?

I have never in my life wished someone dead. I sometimes feel that I not only wish him dead, but I wish a long, slow, painful death. I want him to suffer the way he has made others suffer, stealing from working people- not paying contracters, Trump “University”, his bullshit foundation, etc etc. And I don’t like the way that makes me feel.

And so I do not wish that death on him. I just want the motherfucker gone, and out of my, and your, life.

Do you have a link? I’d love to show that to my Republican friends that believe everything the white house says

I saw something on Facebook the general gist of which was: “Since President Trump was reported to be at Walter Reed we should all keep in mind that he has a family … and hope that that whatever he has is highly contagious”

I believe it’s just a White House term meaning “no more news for the day.” I just assume it comes from the phrase “putting a lid on it” or something of that effect.

Definition here.

Thanks ever so! That’s why I hang around here.

In this case “no more news” for two days in a row IS, in fact, news.
