The Trump Administration: A Clusterfuck in the Making

If one tells a lie and no one is listening, is it still a lie?

Taking a wait-and-see approach, GOP Lawmakers Watch Silently As Trump Strangles Each Of Their Loved Ones In Turn

… “After I watched the president slowly and methodically squeeze the life out of my wife’s body as she gasped, futilely, for breath, he gave me his personal assurance that he was not responsible for her death, so I continue to stand by this administration,” said Rep. Scott DesJarlais (R-TN), who along with every Republican in both the House and Senate stated that while killing off their families in cold blood might not be entirely proper, it was certainly not an impeachable offense …

(obviously)

Not to defend Trump, but it’s Kansas I think and … Could not care less.

Most of Kansas City is in Missouri, no?

I just remember the scene in International House (1932) where W.C. Fields lands his autogyro in Woohoo, China, and shouts “Is this Kansas City MISSOURAH…or Kansas City KANSAS?”

Yeah, there’s Kansas City MO, which is the much bigger one, and Kansas City, KS, which is a smaller suburb. The Chiefs play in Arrowhead Stadium in MO (though outside the KC city limits).

ETA: Anyway, I’m barely aware of who’s playing in the Super Bowl, and if a President would ever say something like, “You know I have to admit I haven’t really paid attention to it this year,” I’d be happy to accept that. It’s the transparent bullshitting that galls me.

There are about 2.1 million people in the KC metro area. About 60% live in Missouri and the remainder live in Kansas. Kansas City, Missouri, is the largest city in the area with a population of 550,000. Overland Park, Kansas, is the second largest city in the metro area with a population of about 200,000.

Arrowhead Stadium is located within the city limits of Kansas City, Missouri.

Right. And KCK has a population of about 150K according to Wikipedia.

I’ll be damned. I would have sworn it was technically in Raytown.

It looks like the older maps show the city limits pretty well inside I-435 but when you look at KC on that globe thing and select the city, it shows the boundary going well east of there, and wrapping all the way around where Raytown is.

I asked a local once – he told me that KC is in Missourah and St. Louis is in Missouree, with a vague east/west-ish division somewhere down through the state.

I knew that was a fake story when it mentioned strangling adults with teeny tiny hands.

Well, it does say that he used barbed wire for at least one of them. I think he can get his hands around that.

But he has to be the best at everything. Anything else would be admitting he has doubts about his abilities.

From The Atlantic online.

Broken by Trump

This columnist, Peter Wehner, is lamenting the demise of the Republican Party, which I won’t shed a tear for. But he rightly points out that these Pubbies have tainted themselves by wading into the [del]swamp[/del] sewer that trump has created. Fuck all of those cowards.

I won’t cry for the Repubs either. They can go to hell. Cowards traitors and fascists. Fuck them all.

+1. If Lincoln were alive today, there is no doubt in my mind that he would warmly embrace the Democratic Party.

Lincoln was pretty much a proto-socialist. He was all for workers’ rights, he instituted the first income tax.

I wonder how long it will take him to notice the armed forces color guard at the Super Bowl had flags for all the branches of the military-- except the Space Force?

Which is funny, considering the introduction of the honor guard included the expession “six military branches” (I think that is what I heard).

I feel better now. The President of the United States thinks the Chiefs play in Kansas. I was way closer.

Someone posted a map of the area sharpied to show KC being in Kansas.

Who could imagine they would freak out in Kansas?
