Let me correct the first sentence for Mr. VP: I will be very candid with you and say that in mid-January AFTER WE DID HUGE MEGA-CUTS TO THE CDC AND FIRED OUR PANDEMIC TEAM, the CDC was still assessing that the risk of the coronavirus to the American people was low…
The biggest!! The best!! The most powerful and strongly murderer like the world has never seen before!! (Still with the hyperbole, though he’s working hard to catch up to Mao or Stalin. No doubt Putin is proud of his efforts.)
To be fair, it’s true that the first coronavirus tests were defective in part because the Obama administration did not develop an accurate coronavirus test.
To be even more fair, that would have required a time machine.
Yeah that’s the smart thing to do and that’s the way to make a government-led health insurance scheme less popular: force people in a pandemic to stay at home and die or stay out of hospitals and go out and spread it to others.
Looks like today’s presser is a circle jerk for Maduro. Let’s not talk about COVID-19; let’s talk about overthrowing regimes led by brown people. That’s something that’ll put 'Merikuh in a good mood again
If Trump’s base keeps insisting on gathering by the 100’s every Sunday this might be a self-limiting problem to at least some degree. Likewise all the MAGA-hatted people who go through my store loudly declaring it all a hoax and refusing to follow the new rules might well reap their own rewards.
Unfortunately, they are likely to take a few others with them.
I wonder how many congregations are still offering in-person services? I’ve heard about the criminally stupid so-called pastors that are trying to still hold in-person services even in areas where there are emergency orders not to gather in large groups but not sure how to know how widespread it actually is.
Remember Jenny McCarthy Body Count? When the damn dirty lying sack of dung in the White House (DDLSODITWH) started preeing in regards to this current crisis, I thought, "Hey, someone should make a similar site for the DDLSODITWH. Then I remembered someone already did.
I got a kick out of Mork telling Mindy that something was a “Catch-44”. Mindy asked, “Don’t you mean ‘Catch-22’?” Mork responded, “No. Catch-44 is like Catch-22 but it’s twice as bad.” Well, with the DDLSODITWH what we have is 30.272727272727272727272727272727 as bad as a Catch-22.
In Dixie, there’s a saying “Some people need killing”. Looks to me like this virus has really poor aim.
Mind boggling. Guess he didn’t pay any attention to what happened in Daegu.
I’m just a trifle worried about Jim Wright (Stonekettle Station). He had to go out in public today to a local grocery store and reports that no one there was taking any precautions at all. Except for the crazy buying and packed store, they were behaving the same as they always did. And he’s vulnerable thanks to 20 years of military service. We can’t lose his voice.
Yikes. I did my first shopping in 2 weeks. Store was not crowded. Everything was available, but I did notice lower quantities of some things like TP. Everyone was following social distancing. Nobody got within 6 feet of me. Plexiglass screens over the cashiers. Store workers wearing disposable gloves. Tape on the floor showing how far away to stand from each other. Good wishes were given to everyone in the store.
But then, we’re in socialist Canada with a death rate 4 times less than the US, so what do we know. (death rate adjusted for population)
See, your problem is your Canadian Education System. Your school curricula are sadly deficient, lacking the 3 full credit-years of Assholery required for graduating from HS in the US.
Had the same experience. (Mostly…there was one woman who had accosted another woman, dragging her into a lunatic conversation…but mostly people respected distancing, not coming closer than 2m except to pass them.)
