The Trump Administration: A Clusterfuck in the Making

I don’t doubt that there are poverty-stricken Trump supporters, just as there are uber-wealthy supporters of the Democratic party. But I suspect that progressives and the population generally doesn’t really understand the typical Trump voter. I suspect that the typical Trump voter is not the opioid addict or wheelchair bound hard-luck story; it’s probably more like the white suburbanite or Anytown, USA resident with a high school education who’s actually doing fairly well financially. He’s facing anxieties and pressures like anyone else, but he’s making it. He owns a house, owns or has a role in a small to mid-size business, has kids in good school districts, and saving for retirement. It’s common knowledge that Trump did well among the less educated. What coastal progressives don’t understand is that there are actually a substantial number of people without college degrees who are financially better off than many of the millennials who went out and spent $200,000 to get a master’s level education. That’s why the average Trump voter couldn’t give a fuck about making college more affordable – they didn’t go to college and they’re just fine. If you were dumb enough to sink money that could have gone to a mortgage to ‘better yourself’ instead…that’s your problem, not theirs.

You can wish them pain all you want, but you won’t convince anyone of anything. You’ll just be rejoicing in the misery of people who are probably as likely to support a democrat as an independent or republican, or stay at home and support nobody at all.

Unfortunately, you are filling in the blanks incorrectly.

Rural America went for Trump big time, and most of those people are not rich.

Guaran-fuckin-tee it.

The way they are able to change opinion so quickly – to flip the hand without the least rigidity and point the finger in the opposite direction, as it were – has led ME to view them as “limp-wristed.”

What he said.

Except they didn’t, and they are to blame when they lose their health care, or lose their homes when they become ill, or when Mom gets tossed out of the nursing home.

Why, exactly, is preparing for a speech a bad thing? Yes - someone used a teleprompter. To me, it means they cared about their message, took time to craft a speech, chose their words, did background research, and made sure that they had their facts straight. (As a listener, it also means that they are less likely to go over time, because the speech is timed.)
It’s evidence that a person has done their damn homework. I want my leaders to have thought about shit before they talk. Why is that vilified and scorned?

(Also, we live in the world of youtube, ffs. There’s plenty of evidence of Obama speaking without a teleprompter. But even if there weren’t, and he only always spoke after having written and rehearsed his words - still not a bad thing.)

What do you know, Bradford is just as stupid on social media as his boss. Seriously, is there anyone at all in the current administration who isn’t an embarrassment?

It has basically become impossible to tell liberals pretending to be stupid from actual trump supporters.

[Trump supporter] Yeah, but how is any of that racist? [Ts]

I am laughing my ass off. Both Bernie and Hillary have made comments about the number of people who will die as a result of Trumpcare, and the Republicans are whining about the “lack of civility”. Er, “death camps”, anybody?

Well, they weren’t. But they are now, because TRUMP!

Bolding mine.

Bwahaahahahhahhhah…

You couldn’t see Trumps faults as he came out and told everyone about them? You couldn’t see what a TOTAL ASSHOLE HE IS?

I don’t believe it. I believe that people that support Trump want to be just as big of a narcissistic, bulling blowhard that he is. Somehow, people admire him for being a horrible person.

Oh, we’re in the pit.

You’re a fucking idiot. Beyond help. Not much else to say to moron 45’s supporters anymore. Just stating the facts.

Wow. What a piece of shit. He’ll fit right in.

Well I’m convinced.

Yup…

“Migger”? Seriously? Dude, if you want to call the former President a nigger, just call him a nigger. It’s still hate speech if you happen to change one letter.

So, you post your moutyh-foaming screed, the mods establish you are some previously banned poster’s sock, and away you go. Or you end up getting banned just for being a jerk. What do you believe you are accomplishing here?

Nobody said they’re rich, but what is “rich” anyway? I talk a lot of people in rural America on a fairly regular basis. They might not have all have college degrees, but they’re not as poor as you think. They’re insecure and they have anxieties about their future prospects and those of their children, but actually, a lot of rural midwesterners are financially better off than a lot of educated millennials. You might think that because they don’t have a college degree that they’re ‘poor’ – not necessarily the case at all.

What’s a “Migger?”

Trolla’s gonna troll…:rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes:

Well, gee, what could it be?:rolleyes::rolleyes:
