The Trump Administration: A Clusterfuck in the Making

Absolutely. I’ll believe to my last breath that if Obama had been white, McConnell would not have been nearly so obstructionist. The sad truth is that McConnell is a racist motherfucker who simply could not stomach the idea of a black president and did everything he could to de-legitimize him. The transformation of Republicans that began with Nixon’s Southern Strategy is now complete, they are the party of racism and bigotry.

Well, it’s hard to see how much more obstructionist the party could have been when Bill Clinton was president. They didn’t try to impeach Obama, remember.

It’s my firmly held belief that virtually all the ills of American society – and many of the world’s – can be traced back to the following:

Ronald Reagan
Newt Gingrich
Roger Ailes
Bush’s Neo-con cabal
Mitch McConnell

But that’s a rant for another day.

I’m liking this.

“Who’s afraid of Trump? Not enough Republicans — at least for now.”

Ooooo…“anonymous sources”!

You left out a certain radio pundit named after the feeling you get when you deeply inhale certain types of white powder…

I don’t think Cokie Roberts is that bad.

Vince the Shamwow guy is 10X the businessman Trump is.

That makes you feel all good and hannity, does it?

It is hard to convey, to folks who don’t have Dittoheads among their friends, the extent to which Rush Limbaugh is responsible for where we are today. He has been relentlessly lying about politics and the news to a national audience for nearly 30 years, and he has spawned hordes of imitators. They have created the alternate reality that made Trump possible.

Good call. Rush goes on the list.

Don’t forget Grover Norquist. Some people on your list are essentially his mouthpieces.

…and nice, red uniforms.

I present this:

I wonder if Macron has a suggestions box? I await developments with interest.

And yet there’s Trump making God only knows how much money (or paying off Russian debt, which is effectively the same thing) off the office of the Presidency.

The guy has made himself ludicrously rich selling… what? Bluster? He hasn’t been a serious real estate developer in decades, has he? He has amassed more gold than a James Bond villain basically by just saying his name over and over. He’s a fucking BRILLIANT businessman. It’s as if I went out selling my dog’s shit and somehow raked in $500 million doing it; it might all be dog shit but I’m King of Entrepreneurs if I can get rich off it. Say what you will about the Trumps and the Kardashians and other people who make dough by selling their names, but they got rich doing it.

The problem with Donald Trump is not his skill as a businessman. It’s that he is the worst President in the history of the United States.

I’ve seen this referenced so many times and I couldn’t for the life of me figure out why he wanted to hang a Time magazine cover on his golf clubs.

:smack:

Fostering entrepreneurship and small business by hiding assets and shielding people from paying their debts such that the rest of us have to eat the cost sounds exactly like a corrupt system, but I won’t derail this thread any further.

He’s a passably skilled self-promoter. I maintain that that’s only part of what makes a businessman. For Trump, the remainder is “threatening people” and “refusing to pay his bills” - and even with those tactics and his self-promotion skills he’s done a very poor job of growing his money as compared to other people with similar starting funds.

They never start any investigations into Obama. Whitewater was brought up during the '92 election cycle, starting an ongoing investigation that lasted 5 years, Ken Starr trying to worry at any vague bit of gristle he could get a tooth into. I never really saw any efforts by anyone to pursue any kind of serious investigation into Obama. They were never able to generate half a skating of traction anywhere, not even with Solyndra. They might have reveled in being able to impeach him, and it must have been frustrating that there was nothing to latch onto.

Trμmp, OTOH, has been troubled since about day -50. Not sure where that will lead.
