The Trump Administration: A Clusterfuck in the Making

The invisible wall construction contract will go to Trump’s family and cronies, and extra-judicial border enforcement will go to NRA Patriot Posses.

According to one of Trump’s lawyers, it’s Obama fault that Orange Junior had his meeting, because the Obama Secret Service shouldn’t have let them into the country.

Good thing their calves are like canteloupes.

applauds Very nice. (And not at all unlikely.)

I wonder if they’re considering making his new clothes out of the same material?

Good point. But wouldn’t it be easier to just dig a hole and pass the stuff under the wall?

Are you trying to trigger a mass suicide?

…and with this proclamation, the Trump administration can scale back the wall promises to a much more affordable fence: which can be built for substantially less, which will then be declared a **huge **victory.

“We promise there will be a border on the map”.

Someone should make an updated book of fables and fairy tales set in the modern world, with Trump cast in the role of each tale’s villain and/or fool. Featuring Beauty and the Beast, The Ass in the Lion’s Skin, Pinocchio, Thumbelina (tiny hands) and more… This would be the perfect cover [NSFW, or more generally].

Trump’s lawyer was on CNN today pointing out that the Secret Service had vetted the Russian-meeting participants. In the past hour or so, the Secret Service has issued a statement saying no, they didn’t vet anyone, that it wasn’t their job.

I see now they’re saying Trump Jr. was not a protectee at that time and so it was not their job then to vet anyone. It may be their job once someone is a protectee. Still directly contradicting the Oaf-in-Chief’s lawyer.

Yeah, they wouldn’t have been in *Junior’s *office if it weren’t for that pesky Secret Service vetting.

Not sure how many lawyers Trump has, but a Trump lawyer was on Meet The Press today making it quite clear that he represented Trump and not Trump Jr.

Well, we should be fair. It’s possible that both parties are telling the truth.

The Secret Service has released a statement saying that they would not have vetted people meeting with Trump, Jr. because he was not under their protection at that time. However, their statement doesn’t seem to rule out the possibility that they vetted the meeting’s attendees for some other reason.

I am curious why the Secret Service’s response is worded in such a lawyerly way.

I caught that, too, and made the same point in another thread. It is a very narrow way to put it. And I am pretty sure I know how Secret Service people testify when placed under oath by a special counsel.

Wouldn’t it be richly ironic if Trump’s own lawyer managed to put him in that meeting due to his own carelessness and inexperience in dealing with matters at this level?

I saw it as a pretty straight forward statement that would cut off any of this other bullshit. He wasn’t under Secret Service protection. So no, they didn’t vet anyone, they were not there, they would not have had any reason to be involved with the meeting or clear anyone, period.

Trump, Sr. had Secret Service protection at the time. Wouldn’t the Secret Service screen everyone going into Trump Tower?
Would they keep records of who went in?
