The Trump Administration: A Clusterfuck in the Making

Why doesn’t he just fire him and pick somebody else then? He could make it all televised. Bring Sessions into the board room… oval office. He’d get to use his infamous catch phrase. It’d be great! Republicans would tune in to see their God Emperor and Democrats would tune in to see Sessions get canned. Think of the ratings.

Honestly, I don’t see how Sessions can stay on and retain any self respect or dignity.

There are a lot of things that could be said in parsing that quote but I don’t see how Sessions can hear that and not just say, “Fuck it. I’m done with this nonsense.”

They’re not that hard to defeat. Just tell them you’re lying.

Anyone with a shred of self-respect or dignity would resign. And nobody with a shred of self-respect or dignity would agree to take his place.

Which is why I’m proud to announce that I’m selling “Christie for AG” T-shirts out of my van.

He’s a republican.

That’s true, if he sees his job as working with the president to achieve the administration’s goals.

If he’s pursuing his own independent program based on his own desires for the criminal justice system, this is just noise. I fear he may see this as a once in a lifetime chance to roll back reform and terrorize non-white communities, so I doubt another marble rolling out of Trump’s head will bother him much.

You assume that Loser Donald actually understands what his powers are.

This assumption is not supported by evidence.

From the NYT interview:

Trump really does think, apparently, that young people pay twelve dollars a year for health insurance. Although maybe he meant to say “$12 a month”. Earlier this year he said that he thought that people paid $15 a month for health insurance. In either case, it’s still absurd. That would be $180 a year, while average rates in the US are $235 a month, and the top state average rate is $473 a month. You can easily pay higher, of course, and family rates are much more.

It seems to me that trumpster fire would clearly like to fire Sessions, but someone told him (and he actually listened!) that it would seem even more obstructiony than firing Comey. So Sessions resigning is what he wants. And why give him anything he wants?

Of course, at the same time Sessions is a truly awful AG so far, so he probably should resign.

This is why this administration is going to make my head explode like those robots.

I suppose it makes sense that they think that people are buying iphones rather than insurance, if they are so out of touch with the country that they think that it costs 15 a month/year for insurance.

He thinks it works like life insurance. Still. Even though he’s been wowing the senators with how much he knows.

Sounds like the typical rich guy being simply out of touch. Nelson Rockefeller in a debate in 1968: “Let’s take the average guy making $100,000 a year.”

Discarding those, if you even have them, is a prerequisite for accepting the job.

I wonder if this is where he got those numbers.

From here.

I wonder if the “no speekey the Engrish” strategy could work for everyone?

This is lovely. Watch Trump drool as he rants about health care votes.

If the White House comes up with a health care bill that has reasonable deductibles and some of the same protections that the ACA has (preexisting conditions, lifetime limits, etc.) that costs $15/year, I will do everything that I can to get my very, very Democratic senators & congresswoman and beg them to vote for it.
I’ll even do it for $20/year.

I’m not holding my breath.

If I, a grown man, still sounded like a 13-year-old boy, I’d want to testify in a closed session, too.

Apparently, the wife of the Japanese prime minister acted like she didn’t speak English for two whole hours as to avoid talking to Donald Trump.

It’s been working for Trump.
