Trump says head of boy scouts called him to call his speech the greatest ever. Boys scouts (and whitehouse) says - never happened.
Trump says he spoke to the head of apple, and Tim Cook promised to build 3 plants in USA. But then Trump adds this curious little bit: “You’ll have to call him. I mean, maybe he won’t tell you what he tells me, but I believe he will do that.”
So it’s pretty apparent that Trump never spoke to Cook about this.
It is clear that what Trump is doing is fantasizing about what he thinks SHOULD have happened. The President of Mexico SHOULD have called him with praise. The leader of the Boy Scouts SHOULD have called his speech the greatest ever. Cook SHOULD have promised to build plants in the USA. Trump has completely diverged from reality now, and is living almost entirely in his little ego-driven fantasy world.
And the RCP average of polls now has him at record disapproval and record low approval
56.9% disapproval
38.2% approval
Come on Trumpie! You’ve beaten Obama’s records, and you’re now for Bush’s record, that came near the very end of his 8 year term, after a disaster of a war:
69.8% disapproval
26.0% approval
You can do it! Probably go to war with N. Korea, and end up killing millions.
I mean, is it possible that he actually believes this? That maybe he actually remembers phone calls that did not happen, had conversations with people who were not actually there?
Special Doper Commendation from the floor to Rick Kitchen for always bringing us interesting and timely newsy tidbits (even if by the nature of their subject matter they make us gag). Well done! I hope constantly scanning the news for stuff we need to know doesn’t interfere with your job as Safety Inspector at one of our biggest nuclear power plants. Hehe.
We do tend to use different terms in that case though. Rather than saying that Grandpa Abe is *lying * when he reminiscences about dating Marilyn Munroe and preceding Neil Armstrong out the door of the lunar lander, we tend to rather sadly muse that Grandpa Abe is delusional and ask whether he’s missed taking his medications.
Trump has no relationship with the truth or facts. I think it is time for the press to take the gloves off and just start using the words lie, lying, and liar.
