The Trump Administration: A Clusterfuck in the Making

Threesome?

That link discusses a New York Federal Prosecutor, not a State Prosecutor.

Threesome?

Man, they go from “Mueller is really a Democrat and therefore can’t be impartial” to “Mueller is holding a grand jury in District of Columbia because it’s majority black so Trump can’t get a fair hearing before a local grand jury.”

I don’t think that was quite what he meant, though I don’t speak for him. As Dave Barry pointed out in one of his books, there’s a vast difference between men and guys. Men would cry at the Hoover Dam; guys would see who could pee the furthest off of it.

I think the comment you replied to was meant to suggest that only a subset of males fall into the “guy” range. All guys are men, but not all men are guys.

When that info came out, I read stuff from a bunch of conservative Christians who were surprised that anybody found it noteworthy, let alone possibly problematic. It wasn’t so much that it was an expectation, just that they thought it was obvious common sense. A lot of them called it something like “putting a fence around your marriage.”

Are you ever tempted to click on a Kellyanne Conway newsclip? It’s like a potato chip — you know you shouldn’t, but sometimes the Imp of the Perverse prevails and you end up eating the whole bag.

I did it. I clicked here. I’ll never got those three minutes back (I didn’t watch the whole thing) but since I took “one for the team” I thought I should summarize Kellyanne’s insights.

Briefly, although the Trumps went to the Russia meeting hoping to commit a crime — boys will be boys — the Russian was a fraudster: she had no crime to offer. Proof is Jared texting “Get me out of here.” He’d gone to the meeting hoping to commit a crime but when it became apparent none was on offer, he wanted out! Would it make any sense for him to leave if, as the lame-stream media portrays it, he was being enticed by delicious Russian criminals?

And even if crimes were committed? It doesn’t matter because … (see if you guessed right) …

Benghazi !!

Trump and his Administration will be a major inspiration for future artists. Trump will be the subject of farces, tragedies, and horror films.
He is already the subject of an exquisite 5-minute Opera song. Enjoy!

I don’t know if the answer to this week’s NPR Sunday puzzle was intentionally ironic or not, but I got a good chuckle when I figured out the answer.

The puzzle is, there is a nine letter name of an animal that can be spelled using the letters of the word “inauguration”.

The answer is orangutan

It’s a personal thing with a certain amount of popularity. It is not an expectation of the Catholic church (of which he is one) - nor is it an expectation of most churches. However, it’s a fad among some conservative Christians (usually ones that don’t think women should work outside the home), as a way to prove to each other that they’re really, really, really not cheating on their wives (with other women).

In other words, just more stupid shit they made up. Like prosperity gospel, rapture, young earth, creationism, “intelligent” design, etc.

That’s theoretically possible, I suppose, but would rather lengthen this process and make it quite a bit harder.

Not sure where else to put this…

After finally seeing the movie Arrival, I had a nightmarish discussion with my friend about how it would go down if aliens came to Earth with Loser Donald as POTUS.

Arrested and deported as illegal aliens.

Just pondering: If the aliens said “Take us to your leader”, who would we take them to? Merkel? Putin?

While I think Pence is a menace to the government, refusing to be alone with a member of the opposite sex is something I must commend him on rather than denigrate him. It is a practical work and personal life policy that greatly reduces the possibility of being accused of sexual impropriety. I know many male teachers, coaches, and religious figures, etc., who adhere to a similar, or more stringent, policies.

It’s one thing to be alone in a private office. Refusing to even have a working lunch in a public place is a whole nother matter.
Don’t forget he also won’t drink alcohol without his wife there to control his intake.

That’d be a good question for a group of differing political types. I think I’ll ask it at a dinner/poker party tonight…

I’d hope the aliens would’ve been monitoring our broadcasts for some time, and would ask to meet with someone like Merkel, or Trudeau, or Al Franken or Michelle Obama! Or maybe they’d “say”:
“We would enjoy a very large automobile crafted for us so that we can make the Carpool Kareoke with your leader James Cordon…”

space wall - the aliens will pay for it.

If you have a job where work is only conducted in public, during business hours, and there is no socialization (during or after work) between managers and subordinates, and both promotions and pay raises are based only on objectively measurable criteria, it’s fine.

However, with many jobs (and especially with the type of work that Pence has), that’s not the case. This “rule” adds a significant barrier to women who wish to excel. They can’t have a beer after work with the boss. They can’t be the only one working late nights on a project. If there is a classified or highly confidential project, they can’t be the one the boss works with, the project will have to go to a man. They definitely can’t be the one on a business trip, again, it will have to be a male subordinate. They’ll never be the person the boss gets to know well because they lack face time. Basically, they can’t be the “go to guy” in the office, at best they’ll be the “go to during hours where my wife has free time to babysit me guy.” And when it comes time for raises, for promotions, etc. they will not get the rewards because they haven’t been able to have the opportunities to excel and they will not have the relationship with the manager that gets that result.
