It’s nice to be able to amuse myself while waiting for Trump to make America Great Again. I.E. Destroy our democratic government, initiate world war three, and sink Florida into the ocean.

(Actually, someone needs to point out to Trump that Obama’s AVERAGE Gallup approval rating was 47.9%, and Trump has only hit 46% ONCE - on the first day of his presidency, and it’s been all downhill ever since.)

I saw someone on Twitter point out that unemploymnent is low, GDP growth is high by US standards, and the stock market is screaming… and Trump’s approval is in the low 30s. That’s, shall we say, atypical.

I dunno… Christie’s suggestion sounds like calculated spin in an attempt to dangle the offer that Trump won’t necessarily even seek another term if they’d just let him MAGA in peace for the next three years. :rolleyes:
Of course, this wouldn’t ever be put in writing or anything, it’s just in order to plant the pernicious idea that *“hey, it’s been about a year, if you can just let him do three more of those, Trump may go away peacefully” *as a stalling tactic.

There is a thing called the FAR - federal acquisition regulations.
On any FEDERAL government contract, the government invokes the FAR, which gives them the right and the duty to provide oversight. That means if you get Uncle Sam’s money, Uncle Sam has the right to know if he is getting what he paid for. It gets written directly into the contract. Rights to data, delivery of known good (or rejection of bad) hardware, software, rights to inspect, etc etc etc.
Not ONE competent career government employee in contract administration would sign off on a “contract” like the one Whitefish got. Not willingly.
And I found a way to put in my own monikers. 
Yeah, to me the evidence points to the Puerto Rican utility authority (PREPA) doing a shitty job, rather than to Zinke handing out favors. Maybe he put the Whitefish people in touch with PREPA, but in any event they were in Puerto Rico doing utility work well before this contract was signed.
There are in fact at least plausible reasons why they got the contract; they apparently have greater-than-usual experience in doing utility work in mountainous areas, by dint of their Montana contracts.
