Now, full disclosure: I haven’t the foggiest fucking idea how to pursue peace between Israel and the Palestinians. Because I’m not the President of the United States. I would hope that the goddamned President of the goddamned United States would have a better answer than, “Meh. Whatever you kids want is fine with me.” Here’s the thing: the parties don’t agree on what they want. Saying, “you guys work it out” is not the solution we’ve all been waiting for. And even if Trump’s approach is to remove the US from the peace process (and maybe that’s a good idea, fuck if I know), even so, wouldn’t you want to finesse that strategic shift a bit rather than just dropping it casually during a press conference?
