The Trump Administration: A Clusterfuck in the Making

Trump wouldn’t know a Navajo from a member of the Pontifical Swiss Guard. Anyway, all Indians [sic] are basically the same, amirite? Not white, Anglo-Saxon/European, and that’s the only distinction that needs to be made.

Jesus wept.

And he wouldn’t know code from white noise. He doesn’t even have much of a clue about the code called “English”.

It’s clear that Trump is making bullying and harassment fashionable again. Here we had what we thought was a special occasion on which we hoped that he could just momentarily behave magnanimously, in a manner befitting of the office. And here he finds himself the chief representative of the historically white federal government, juxtaposed against a group of people who’ve served this country admirably whilst suffering greatly at the hands of the white power establishment, and he proceeds to use them as props and uses another Native American figure to taunt a woman. Trump is nothing if not tearing down the boundaries of what is acceptable and decent in public political discourse, and worse, normalizing such juvenile, narcissistic conduct.

It’s obvious that she is is mourning the death of someone. Christmas, Easter… same thing.
The Pocahontas remark was, I’m sorry, I can’t even think of the right adjective. He’s said worse, so it’s not the worst thing he’s said. It’s not the most disgraceful thing he’s said. I guess at this point we just chalk it up to one of those incredibly disgraceful, disrespectful, hateful, things he says. I can’t even process what is worse than what anymore. Un-fucking-believeable.

That’s how they decorate in her native Transylvania.

The one in Transexual?

You’re not far off. Here’s a pic of the interior staircase entrance in the library in Ljubljana, Slovenia, designed by the great Slovenian architect Jose Plecnik:

Look familiar?

I, for one, am truly surprised he didn’t double down and insert the word papoose or, worse yet, squaw into his diatribe.

I don’t apologize for things that are not my fault. I do, however, agree with you on your description of the moron occupying the White House.

Yep!

He’d have to know those words in order to be able to use them in a hateful manner.

But he should at least be able to greet them all with “How!” — Even for Trump, that should be simple enough.

It’s all good; one of these days he’s gonna deny that it was he who said it.

“How… are you doing? Are you having a good time? I guarantee you Pocahontas would never have asked you that. I was talking to my generals, I said, has any president ever greeted the Indians? And they said to me, Mr. Trump, ten months ago we never would have believed a president would do that. And here I am. Have a good time.”

Can’t help but notice that the photo op was in front of the Andrew Jackson portrait.

Happy coincidence?

One wonders if that was an intentional insult or just sheer ignorance on the part of the White House staff.

He probably only has one or two thoughts about Native Americans rattling around in his head, and this is one of them. They’re almost lucky that he didn’t recount his fight against tribal gaming.

“I think we can now forget that Custer incident, you did a tremendous job, so it’s not true that only dead Indians are good. I’d say that’s a pretty catching blanket statement. I was never myself at war, but don’t scalp me, 'cause I had those bone spurs, luckily it wasn’t a wounded knee, that would’ve really been a trail of tears…”

A lot of people have been having fun with that image:

Even happier.

You’re right, but this isn’t HuffPost coming up with the most unflattering shot to publish. This is the FLOTUS communication director choosing that shot, despite all options.
