Bolding mine. That’s it. He chose to distract from a ceremony honoring three Native Americans by taking a poke at a political opponent. And he did it by using the name of a Native American he uses to mock her with.
This goes beyond crass to “disrespectful beyond belief.”
Trump’s Panama Hotel Used To Launder Drug Money, Human Trafficking Revenue, Russian Gangster MoneyWhy do the Democrats and the media continue to pound the “Russian election interference” drums on a daily basis, but stories like this barely get mentioned? (And there have been many, involving corruption at Trump properties and involving Trump personally.) Why not go after the much more low-hanging fruit? He’s clearly guilty of corruption, fraud, and violations of the emoluments clause of the U.S. Constitution for all the money he takes from foreign governments, and commits these crimes on a daily basis.
I have to theorize at this point that they are hesitant to option the door to investigations of corruption and financial crimes because they know they’re guilty of it as well, albeit probably not to the extremes Trump takes it to or involving such levels of depravity as aiding mobsters, drug dealers, and human traffickers.
You professed to not understand why he was being castigated for it. (I think. As usual your post was less than coherent, as is this one.) You’re an imbecile.
Meanwhile, Trump continues his all-out assault on the press. The attempt to block the merger of AT&T and Time Warner because of CNN is actually, as this Atlantic article points out, is a tactic that Vladimir Putin and other authoritarians use. They use government power to lean on companies to act in the interests of the regime. Remember that a month or two ago he also threatened to use the FCC’s licensing power to go after NBC affiliates because of he was irate at the Morning Joe.
This is serious, serious stuff folks. We’re not talking about someone calling a reporter an asshole on a hot mic, or an aggressive push against a reporter or network. We’re actually witnessing a sitting president use the highest legal authority to punish businesses and people he doesn’t like. Nevermind the ironic fact that it’s a Republican president interfering with private enterprise.
