Ha! That was my first thought, too. “Doping is fake news! We stand with Russia!”
On a personal level…Prior to the rise of Trump I was your basic apolitical slightly-left-of-centre shmoe who almost never watched the news, and had to drag himself out to vote mainly because politicians basically seemed like all the others. The observations going on with the elections last fall was what mainly got me caught up in this site, and when President преЦАРдент got elected, I don’t think I’ve missed one single PRS Newshour since (never watched it even once prior to then). This shit-show has so absofrickenlutely g-a-l-v-a-n-i-z-e-d yours truly and if I lived south of the border I would be so high on the hog with whatever grassroots involvement that I could possibly throw myself into (flyering, protests, fundraising events, certainly not missing a town hall meeting) (The Indivisible Movement certainly sounds like a ‘thing’.) (scroll seven paragraphs down to get to the I.M. stuff).
That’s about as much of a salutary effect that I can get out of this dire shittiness so far.
Seth Abramson live tweeting Erik Prince’s testimony before the House Intelligence Committee has a lot of damning commentary:
Ah, good ol’ colonial imperialism–profits!
Prince had an affair with his nanny while his wife was dying of cancer. Just another hypocritical republican piece of shit.
Good God, man, he boinked his nanny? Oh, wait, his child’s nanny, perhaps?
Well in all fairness, he did marry the nanny. And then later divorced her.
But there’s a sanctity to marriage that is ordained by GOD. Good thing for conservatives that this only applies to other kinds of people, and not pussy-lovin’ dudes and dick-lovin girls.
This is a guy who built a business that resulted in the bloody murder of a number of Iraqi civilians. He should spend his days in repentance and good works.
Hell, no.
That’s what he considers good works.
Remember, too, that Erik Prince is Secretary of Education (shudder) Betsy DeVos’s brother.
You could have stopped at 56,877 ya know.
Actually, no. I couldn’t.
Trump’s approval rating is at 32%. I don’t know whether to be shocked that it’s so low, or shocked that it’s so high.
Trump actually did something I agree with…and it actually kind of highlighted for me just how much of a clusterfuck his administration is. Out of hundreds of different statements and actions I’ve been aware of the Trump administration taking in the last year, there was only one other time I actually agreed with Trump. When he killed the T.P.P. at the beginning of his administration. Pretty much everything else he and his gang have done hasn’t just been wrong; it’s been objectively damaging and morally reprehensible.
Trump Urges Saudi Arabia To End Blockade of Goods to YemenIt’s lacking an “or else” that is warranted given the utterly depraved actions of Saudi Arabia, but it’s a good start.

His base is 27%. He’s not going below that.
Here, have a third.
But put Trump up against a Democrat in a real election, and his support would be higher. I know a lot of people believe that Bernie Sanders would have a fighting chance - and he probably does - but I think we might be surprised at how easy he would become for the right wing to smear with their negative information war campaigns.
In my experience and from my personal observation of the news over 6+ decades, the deep, gut-level, ongoing, will-not-die hatred of Obama and Hillary Clinton by the Right far surpasses anything ever directed at white, male Democratic politicians. This is my opinion. Yours is different. Good for you.
Holy hell, Thelma, the returds on Fox News keeps harping on impeaching the Clinton administration.
Goes to show: the group most upset about Hillary’s loss is, in fact, the GOP.
I’m curious. What are the things Trump has done that you agree with and why do you agree with them?
