Ha! Since I was an Art Director, that could have been grounds for immediate termination as well.
(If I’d used Papyrus, there’d be rabid testicle-biting marmots involved)

Deleuze and Guttari couldn’t have said it better.
Riddle me this: does this process diminish a finite supply of stupid? Because it seems to me that the supply is never-ending.
I used to use Copperplate Gothic Light in my emails for a long time, one of the reasons being that members of my previous team each chose different fonts so that we could sort out team inbox faster. The problem was stupid people who insisted that I was yelling at them or being mean because it was in ALL CAPS.
No, no it isn’t. You’re an oversensitive moron.
So I switched to Perpetua.
There’s a font that will go on and on and on…
Yeah, old Al said that there are only two infinite things, the universe and the stupid, and he had his doubts about the universe.
But the point is that keeping the stupid contained is preferable to spreading it all over the place. Like the stuff in your stomach is better contained therein than spread all over the sidewalk (and skip that restaurant next time).
Ahh, life’s rich pageant…
Hey! I like comic sans, and do not understand the hatred of the font.
It’s fine in its intended use, that is, comics. The problem arises when it’s used for resumes or funeral announcements.
Comic Sans is the SpaghettiOs of typeface. If you’re older than nine, it’s time to leave it behind.
What if it’s a resume or funeral announcement for a cartoonist?
(I use Garamond for my resume. FWIW.)
But I like SpaghettiO’s, too. Especially with the little hot dog chunks.
Just don’t nobody mock my Bookman Old Style!
I’m old school. Nothing but Courier for me.
Agreed. When it comes to classy appearance and readability, Courier delivers.
We have much to learn from you.
The hard part is getting a typewriter to work on the Internet.
Now I’m kinda embarrassed that Courier is what I use when I have a choice. I probably shouldn’t mention that I still put two spaces at the end of a sentence, either.
If you’re using Courier, it’s actually preferred to use two spaces. The guideline applies to proportional vs monospaced fonts. Proportional fonts are only supposed to get one space after the period. Monospaced fonts like Courier or American Typewriter should get two.
Awesome! Thanks!
