The Trump Administration: A Clusterfuck in the Making

Fine. Don’t make bricks from the yellow sand.

NPR justice correspondent Carrie Johnson was telling Hari Sreenavasan tonight that Jeff No Regard Sessions, on the eve of the committee’s vote, does not support the, AHEM, !bipartisan! bill to make major changes to the criminal justice system, especially for non-violent drug offenders.
Quoting at length:

This rankles my drankle that ole Weasel Eyes somehow conflates the legislation and the epidemic as being a gateway into further chaos. This toxic reefer madness dum-dummery really has to come to a close soon. Too bad he couldn’t elaborate on exactly how offenders would take advantage of this legislation once they get out of prison.

After HR mentioned this tweet from (R) senator Chuck Grassley from Iowa…

(Chuck’s caps, btw) (yeah! a bit angry!)

…CJ responded:

So yeah Jeff Szechuan is still this little evil ball of car-running-over-able-ness. Him and Pruitt in particular…those two…they have this extra ratshit sort of…je ne sais quoi to them? The loathesome fuckwits will never end up in handcuffs, but it doesn’t hurt to imagine.

Then again, when does Trump read anything? He won’t even concentrate long enough to read his daily “National Security for Dummies” single-page, double-spaced document with charts and pictures. Would he really have read (and understood) dozens of pages of legalese that likely included the standard prenup clause about infidelity?

…And I think we all saw this coming. Trump blames the Florida shooting on the FBI’s Russia investigation.

I hope the people of Parkland (and surrounding communities) especially note that Trump tried to make this tragedy all about him, just like he does with every other damned thing that happens. And I hope they’re not happy about it.

What happened there is terrible. It’s incredibly dickish to politicize the tragedy, let alone personalize it. That’s just ghoulish.

Trump: Goulash? I LOVE goulash! I’ll have two ladles.

FTFY
“I’ll have two ladies.”

Here’s one person there who is unhappy with the politics, thanks Rick Kitchen for the link (from another thread):

Oh I hope that infidelity clauses are included and Melania takes him for half of what he’s worth.

But… trump surrounds himself with lawyers. All he needs to say is “make sure I’m allowed to fool around and Melania isn’t”.

What the hell will she do with 10 bucks and the change from behind the sofa cushions?

Good point, but I’m sure the asshole in chief has a few million stashed.

Perhaps, she could write a book. Though I’m sure there is a NDA as well as a pre-nup. Dam the torpedoes says I.

I wonder if Starving Artist considers that the action of a person making America more adult again?

Or she might get stuck with half of what he owes. She can’t afford that kind of hit. But then, who can?

Ruben Gallegos (D-Arizona) noted it:

We already do.

I wonder if she returns to her native Slovenia and writes the book, if the NDA can affect her there. We have an extradition treaty with Slovenia, but I dunno if they will extradite for something like violating an NDA or prenup. Of course, by that time, Trump will be retired to Moscow, so it may get complicated.

That would be a civil issue: extradition is for criminal issues.

Rick Gates has agreed to flip on Manafort.

That’s because every single FBI agent, bar none, is investigating the Russian hoax, of coarse.

Just when you think that worthless piece of trash can’t go any lower, he does. He’s going to pop out the other side into China any moment now.

Sorry if I’ve missed it above, but I’m hearing now that a large GOP donor is threatening to stop donating unless some strong gun laws are passed.

Tweetstorm has entered the lexicon. Headlines similar to this one from WaPo are all over the place:

“Trump takes on the FBI, Russia probe and 2016 election in a nine-hour tweetstorm

Predictably in his tweetstorm, Trump is only concerned about himself and has no interest in protecting students from shootings or defending the country from Russian interference.

Trump attacking his own national security adviser, H.R. McMaster, is noteworthy: https://www.cnbc.com/2018/02/18/trump-criticizes-mcmaster-comments-about-russian-meddling-in-election.html

It’s not the FBI’s job to stop crazy people from shooting up schools, unless they are terrorists, and none of the right-wingers are likely to call them that. Trump himself seems to limit the designation of “terrorist” to Muslims.
