It must be a military takeover that removes this cabal.
Even if Vance & Rubio and others in the cabinet declare Trump unsuitable, if Trump is conscious he can challenge and it’s basically the same as impeachment - 2/3rds of Congress. They all know this and won’t attempt it.
Some number of Generals and Admirals need to find a cone of silence and agree to a military takeover. If they fail, it’s jail or they die. Like every coup.
The USA is falling down a well and soon will be a full plutocracy and those Generals and Admirals right now will be removed/executed. I reckon it’s already too late to wait till tomorrow.
Your post defeats itself because to have got to where you admit he is, Trump must have said something that resonated with his supporters in the first place.
It’s pretty funny to be arguing that he is an ineffective speaker while also (probably correctly) saying he heads a cult. How do you think people become cult leaders? By smiling?
I agree for a large proportion of people he MUST be effective (as a speaker), because as you say, they started supporting him and they still do. But WHY is a total mystery to me. Putting aside for a minute all the appalling/illegal behaviour, comments, and policies, half the time the man is (to me) utterly incoherent, never mind even a competent orator.
Looking at Google Maps, Playa Bagdad, where this incursion took place, is just on the other side of the Rio Grande from “Starbase”, fka Boca Chica Village, TX, which Elon Musk has recently turned into a SpaceX-owned company town.
I wonder if that might have something to do with whatever this clusterfuck was.
Not really; he just has to be an awful human being and a rich white male. He’s a rich white male, a rapist, bigoted, a narcissistic psychopath, treasonous, dishonest, corrupt, incoherent, ignorant, stupid, and irrational; the ideal human being by right wing standards. So of course they love him, he’s what they want to be. The fact that twice they managed to send a message to the women of America by keeping a woman from being elected by voting for a rapist is a major bonus too.
His lack of clarity is a bonus, not an issue; it means his followers can project whatever they want to hear into what he’s saying.
… and yet if @Great_Antibob is correct, he has somehow managed to convey all these traits to his supporters without being able to communicate either rationally or emotionally.
That seems to be the attitude that his supporters have adopted. Looking in on a predominantly right-wing/Trumpist message board, I see remarks like the following:
“If Trump says those Democrats committed sedition in that video, then they did commit sedition. And if he says they should be executed, then they should be executed. Trump is always right. He cannot issue an unlawful order, because if he orders it, then it’s legal.”
Scary stuff. It is definitely a cult. I hope all Democrats have security, but I also hope that those Democrats in the video get extra security. I can easily see some Trumpist taking the law into his or her own hands and opening fire on one of those Democrats, hoping for grace and favors from Dear Leader.
Short version: Coast Guard leadership quietly drafts policy to soften the prohibition on displaying certain racist and Nazi-friendly hate symbols. Policy leaks, and condemnation is swift and vocal. Coast Guard leadership does a one-eighty, trashes draft policy, claims it was fake news and never happened.
If you’ve only ever seen 10 or 15 second clips, you can fool yourself into thinking they’re representative. They’re not. Those pathetic displays are the highlights.
It’s like some folks and objectivism. There’s a lot of folks who claim to have read and understood “Atlas Shrugged” than actually slogged through Galt’s speech. Sure, they’ll say it was awe inspiring or whatever but, really, they found it as dry, boring, and insufferable as the rest of us. But they feel compelled to wear their team colors, anyway.
And that’s what I’m seeing here - somebody only seeing the high points of the speech and concluding people must instead be exaggerating or misrepresenting just how interminable it really is - even to the fans.
