Swalwell is doing a good job.
Are you serious? Putin and Kim, less so MBS.
It’s neat how quickly things change in this age of the internet and a fast-moving story about Trump’s corruption breaking.
Americans support the impeachment inquiry into Trump
So yeah, majority.
Don’t be ridiculous. He didn’t “aid and abet” them. He just gave them a handy.
This is very heartening, and this has only just started. I’m hopeful this number will get much higher.
I’ve probably been ninjaed on this but…
CONGRESS gave military aid to Ukraine. Trump tried to withhold it.
And the accusations against the Bidens are ridiculous. Yes, the prosecutor (Shokin) was investigating an oligarch that owned the company that Hunter Biden eventually worked with.
But the issue seemed to be that the prosecutor WASNT honestly investigating the guy.
The owner of the company (Zlochevsky) was accused of embezzling 23 million dollars from the Ukrainian people. These funds were seized by the U.K. and being held there. The US was involved in trying to get the money returned to the Ukrainian people. The corrupt prosecutor took actions that resulted in the stolen money being returned to the accused embezzler. This pissed off the U.K and the US. These were the actions that started the international pressure that resulted in Shokin being fired.
So it’s actually the opposite of what Trump was suggesting. The corrupt prosecutor was helping Zlochevsky, not “going after him”. Not that there’s much real evidence linking Biden and Zlochevsky, who had fled the country before Biden started working in the Ukraine.
Weird… What’s this?
New poll: Majority of Americans against impeachment and removal of Trump
A lot can happen in a day.
Please see post #533:
This is a fast moving thread and these instructions could have been missed, so I am reiterating them.
Please do not go too far into the gutter.
[/moderating]
One poll is about having an impeachment inquiry, and the other poll is about supporting an impeachment itself-two different questions.
That is disheartening, especially because it’s Quinnipiac, not SurveyMonkey like the other poll. It’s saying that, over Sept 19-23, very few Republican voters supported impeachment and removal, while some Democratic voters agreed with them.
Not too surprising, really. “Removal,” at this point, let alone on Sept. 19, is a lot to ask, especially for Republican voters. This will surely evolve.
Yeah missed that. My apologies.
I hear ya. But I’m not the one driving.
A little while back **Richard Parker **started a thread about what it would take to support impeachment. My thought then was that direct personal involvement was necessary for impeachment. If the reports are accurate as described (and it’s difficult for me to follow all of the developments so quickly), then I would support impeachment and removal.
You should look up the definition of “enemies” for purposes of treason. Maybe you’ll learn something today.
The SurveyMonkey poll is pretty good because it breaks down Inquiry vs. Impeachment vs. Removal, as opposed to the Quinnipiac poll that jumps start to Removal.
Help a brutha out here. What definition are you using?
An older poll. Yours “was conducted between Sept. 19 and 23.” The poll I referenced was “collected September 25-26.”
Also, one is from several days ago. The other includes respondents yesterday and today.
Good stuff. A few comments:
I’ve long thought this should be a priority. Accept the fact that Trump is probably not going to be ousted in a criminal trial, but hope that the evidence is so clear that he should be, that enough Republican senators will be voted out so that the Democrats regain control of the Senate.
I’ve also long thought that the primary reason Trump doesn’t want his financial info exposed is because it will show him to not be a billionaire, certainly not to the tune of 5-10 billion as he has suggested in the past, but rather only relatively wealthy. His whole notion of himself that he wants the public to believe is of him as a master negotiator and businessman, which has allowed him to licence his name for millions upon millions of dollars over the decades. If that illusion is destroyed, so is he.
I’m not up on the whole Deutsche Bank investigation, but it seems to me that if Trump’s fortune has come from such bribery as quoted above, this would have not of happened over night, it has been going on for years and maybe decades, and there is no way evidence of such would have gone unnoticed for all that time. I will be extremely surprised if Trump has done these things. Perhaps his returns might so instances of tax fraud and the like, but not that.
