Personally I can’t wait until the Senate puts the kibosh on this three-ring circus.
Why? It’s not like they have anything better to do. Hundreds of bills passed by the House sit ignored on the Kentucky turtle-demon’s desk, and he’s not ignoring them for lack of time.
Late in the fray - apologies that this was a page or two back, but DAYUM -
At least this awesomeness - wrapped up in a nice, neat, bow - finally got acknowledged - thanks Asp!
Not sure if we can draw any conclusions from the fact that the Russians evidently had a metric shit ton more success rat-fucking the elections of a country half way across the globe than some little shithole country right next door.
Sure: Nunez, Collins, Jordan.
And gets to the bottom of more sane matters like BENGHAZI! finally.
And pizzagate. Don’t forget pizzagate!
No! No! Emails, emails!
Silver lining there.
I’m sorry that a Congressional investigation into an administration openly committing crimes is distracting you from more important things.
You’ve got to do the chant right:
HILLARY LIED (lean to the left)
PEOPLE DIED (lean to the right)
BENGHAZI! (sit up straight and give the touchdown signal)
Feh. Small potatoes, all of them. They’re finally going to get to the bottom of finding Obama being born in Kenya so they can impeach him* and cancel all of his accomplishments retroactively, including his Supreme court appointments.
*Take that, ya libtards!
Aww, thanks. But I overlooked to list one of the most important aspects of cheating Trump Republicans will employ to help the Russians:
- Unbridled voter suppression, such as what just occurred in Wisconsin, removing 234,000 voters from their rolls and in Georgia, where they removed 300,000.
House vote still on for tomorrow? I’m so ready for this to be over and finish. Send it to the Senate, vote, either depose Trump or don’t, but man I don’t want waiting.
‘We Are Republicans, and We Want Trump Defeated’ is the header of an interesting opinion piece in today’s New York Times (i.e. paywall or use up a free pageview). Authored by four ‘traditional’ (and powerful) Republicans - George T. Conway III, Steve Schmidt, John Weaver and Rick Wilson - the article is a rallying call for
I was especially taken by one paragraph:
These sentences encapsulate perfectly a fundamental reason why Trump and his enablers must be defeated. They have changed the face of America and replaced it with a grotesque mask that can only repel anyone, anywhere who treasures the ideals on which the nation was founded.
At the end of the day, I suspect nothing much will come from this effort. Still, in an era where hope is often all we have, I hope I am wrong.
I wish the Democrats would get on board with this and stop quibbling over left, centrist, progressive, moderate, blahblahblah. The important thing is to get a Democrat elected to the presidency and put the soon-to-be-ex OUT OF OFFICE. Who the fuck cares about the nuances among anyone who isn’t trump?? Any anyway, it doesn’t matter what any of them stand for, because unless the Dems take the Senate, not one blessed thing will get past Turtle McTurtleface, just like it hasn’t for the past 10 years.
I’m cool with it now. This is when the cream should rise to the top and the Democrat with the best ideas is chosen by primary voters.
Now, if people get butthurt and/or fall for right wing/ Russian propaganda and forget about Duverger’s Law again, I guess we’ll get what we deserve.

I’m happy when prominent Republicans attack Trump, because I’m happy when anyone attacks Trump. Everyone should attack him. And maybe seeing these four publish this will pull a few extra votes away from Trump. But it is critically important to remember that “traditional Republicans” are still shit people. These were the people who were on board with GWB’s invasion of Iraq and torture gulags. I’m kinda not impressed with their moral leadership. Rick Wilson is a real piece of shit. He was behind the Max Cleland ad, later bragging in an interview with Cracked, of all places, that he had “no moral center” and would destroy the innocent and guilty alike in the pursuit of his political goals. He also once tweeted that he couldn’t understand why no one “curbstomped” the writers at Media Matters. He’s a disgusting person who will revert back to being a thoroughgoing shitbag once Trump is out of office.
Again, I am glad to see the in-fighting. I hope they all totally destroy each other. Because anti-Trump Republicans are not our friends. They’re still… Republicans. Fuck them.
I was wondering if you felt that way about people who vote the Republican ticket as well, or is it just like the Republican politicians?
Mostly the politicians and public intellectuals, which is who I was referring to in my post. Some Republican voters are also shitbags, and some are just profoundly misguided.
There actually was a time when BRAINS, COMPETENCY, and ETHICS mattered when it came to electing someone to run this country. But Republicans have lowered the bar so much over the last ½ century that now we get idiots (“Dubya”), scumbags (Angry Lid’l’ Donny), and those who - as my well-educated wife would say - are “non compo mentis” (Ronny “Ray-gun” and increasingly it’s starting to look like the current occupant of the W.H., too [although I, personally, never really thought he was all that “with it,” mentally, to begin with]) in the W.H. Personally, I’m all for electing Elizabeth Warren to the Oval Office (as I was three years ago) but apparently her BRAINS are a turn-off to many (“elitist!”) and her well-thought-out ideas are simply too complex for most “Merkans” to grasp to keep her immune from all of the smearing (“Socialist!”) of her by those on the “right.”
