There actually was a time when BRAINS, COMPETENCY, and ETHICS mattered when it came to electing someone to run this country. But Republicans have lowered the bar so much over the last ½ century that now we get idiots (“Dubya”), scumbags (Angry Lid’l’ Donny), and those who - as my well-educated wife would say - are “non compo mentis” (Ronny “Ray-gun” and increasingly it’s starting to look like the current occupant of the W.H., too [although I, personally, never really thought he was all that “with it,” mentally, to begin with]) in the W.H. Personally, I’m all for electing Elizabeth Warren to the Oval Office (as I was three years ago) but apparently her BRAINS are a turn-off to many (“elitist!”) and her well-thought-out ideas are simply too complex for most “Merkans” to grasp to keep her immune from all of the smearing (“Socialist!”) of her by those on the “right.”

Is it a dog or a cat? You decide this by looking at all the evidence, which in this case is the animal in question. All the evidence is readily available and in the open. In the Ukraine debacle, this doesn’t apply. There are people involved that have not been questioned. That’s all I’m saying. I want to hear from them before I make any final conclusions about the whole thing.

You can’t use another thing as an example of what Trump is or isn’t. He’s uniquely awful.

Also, one can pretty much conclude that what he hides is evidence of his guilt and what he denies is actually the truth.

We’ve had enough witnesses. He did it. It is a spectacularly evil thing to do, to use his office to strongarm a smaller country currently at risk from one of the murderers Trump admires. Eleven people died while Trump held up aid in his quest to smear the Bidens.

If he’s so concerned about the dangers of nepotism, he can start with his three vacuous offspring.

That’s funny; we must be watching different speeches. I’ve heard 200 variations on the following themes:

Trump was not afforded due process in the House hearings (not true)
Ukraine got their funds - no harm, no foul (reprehensible)
There was no quid pro quo (not true)
This is a partisan attempt to overturn the 2016 election (not true, and so what?)

In 1972 Nixon won in a landslide – a real landslide, not the fantasy kind in Trump’s head – and Congress had no problems with that in booting his sorry ass to the curb, 2 years later.

“When Jesus was falsely accused of treason, Pontius Pilate gave Jesus the opportunity to face his accusers,” Representative Barry Loudermilk of Georgia said on the floor of the U.S. House of Representatives, saying Jesus received a fairer trial than Trump, who has been accused of abusing his power and obstructing Congress.

“During that sham trial, Pontius Pilate afforded more rights to Jesus than Democrats have afforded this president in this process,” the lawmaker added.
