Poll from a couple of days ago.
Question: If President Donald Trump suspended military aid to Ukraine in order to incentivize the country’s officials to investigate his political rival, Joe Biden, and his son, would you support or impose impeachment?
Total Support: 55%
Total Oppose: 26%
Republicans Support: 32%
Republicans Oppose: 49%
Another poll from after Pelosi’s announcement, but before the the public release of whistleblower complaint:
The poll… shows 43 percent of voters think Congress should begin the process of impeachment, while an equal number of poll respondents say Congress shouldn’t begin impeachment proceedings. Another 13 percent of voters are undecided.
Support for impeachment is up 7 points from the previous poll, which was conducted last Friday through Sunday. In that survey, only 36 percent of voters supported starting impeachment proceedings, while 49 percent opposed them.

Well, time is money, isn’t it?
They don’t do the daily press briefings anymore.
Roberts updated that it’s just a photo op.

This, this, and a thousand times this. Why are you all giving HD this much airtime? It’s a distraction from the main discussion and BTW who cares? Almost every post of his gets a reply or even multiple replies. Why? It’s not like he adds anything substantive to the conversation, and *everyone knows that. *
I quoted the same thing you did in post #717 , and instructed posters to not personalize arguments. You have done the same thing here. Don’t do that.

You could probably use that question as an example of a push poll in stats classes.
‘If (insert scary-sounding but unproven assertion here) , would you support or impose impeachment?’
HurricaneDitka:
Whatever point you’re trying to make with these posts is lost on me. It seems like I’m supposed to take it as an invitation to prove the existence of Hunter Biden, but I’m not interested in proving something that we all already agree on (at least, I suspect you actually believe Hunter Biden exists).
No, he does not.
Robert Biden exists, Hunter Biden does not.
Just like how Trump talked about US generosity but didn’t use the magic words to refer to foreign aid.
Ergo, Hunter Biden cannot exist.

Oh, how would you have phrased the question?

Interesting. Possibly should put this in the Fox News thread, but this is the current one, so will keep it here:
“IT’S MANAGEMENT BEDLAM”: MADNESS AT FOX NEWS AS TRUMP FACES IMPEACHMENT
In public, Donald Trump’s allies are putting on a brave face, repeating talking points, mostly staying on message. But in private, there are few who believe that the allegations leveled by an intelligence agency whistle-blower that Trump abused American foreign policy to leverage Ukraine into investigating Joe Biden won’t result in considerable damage—if not the complete unraveling of his presidency. “I don’t see how they don’t impeach,” a former West Wing official told me today. “This could unwind very fast, and I mean in days,” a prominent Republican said.
But even before the whistle-blower’s revelations, Fox was having something of a Trump identity crisis, and that bulwark has been wavering. In recent weeks, Trump has bashed Fox News on Twitter, taking particular issue lately with its polling, which, like other reputable polls, has shown the president under significant water. Meanwhile, Trump’s biggest booster seems to be having doubts of his own. This morning, Sean Hannity told friends the whistle-blower’s allegations are “really bad,” a person briefed on Hannity’s conversations told me. (Hannity did not respond to a request for comment). And according to four sources, Fox Corp CEO Lachlan Murdoch is already thinking about how to position the network for a post-Trump future. A person close to Lachlan told me that Fox News has been the highest rated cable network for seventeen years, and “the success has never depended on any one administration.” (A Fox Corp spokesperson declined to comment.)
…
Fox has often taken a nothing-to-see-here approach to Trump scandals, but impeachment is a different animal. “It’s management bedlam,” a Fox staffer told me. “This massive thing happened, and no one knows how to cover it.” The schism was evident this week as a feud erupted between afternoon anchor Shepard Smith and prime-time host Tucker Carlson. It started Tuesday when Fox legal analyst Judge Andrew Napolitano told Smith on-air that Trump committed a “crime” by pressuring Ukraine’s president to get dirt on Biden. That night, Carlson brought on former Trump lawyer Joe diGenova, who called Napolitano a “fool” for claiming Trump broke the law. Yesterday, Smith lashed back, calling Carlson “repugnant” for not defending Napolitano on air. (Trump himself is said to turn off Fox at 3 p.m., when Shep Smith airs.) Seeking to quell the internecine strife before it carried into a third day, Fox News CEO Suzanne Scott and president Jay Wallace communicated to Smith this morning to stop attacking Carlson, a person briefed on the conversation said.
…
Among the powerful voices advising Lachlan that Fox should decisively break with the president is former House speaker Paul Ryan , who joined the Fox board in March. “Paul is embarrassed about Trump and now he has the power to do something about it,” an executive who’s spoken with Ryan told me.

This isn’t the investigation you’re looking for. Move along.
This is even more encouraging than the whistleblower report.

Would like to note that hearing that Paul Ryan, a man who was once Speaker of the House for the first two years of the Trump Administration, now feels like… as a Board Member of Fox News… he finally feels he can do something about Trump.
Really, that tells you all you need to know about Ryan and the GOP, doesn’t it?
Giuliani throwing state department under the bus. Let them fight.
It’s not really instructive if I tell you how I would have phrased it. Let’s just look at how some other pollsters phrased it:
Quinnipiac : “Do you think President Donald Trump should be impeached?” (37% said “yes”)
Monmouth: “Do you think President Trump should be impeached and compelled to leave the presidency, or not?” (35% think he should be)
Suffolk: “From your own point of view, do you think the House of Representatives should seriously consider impeaching President Trump?” (32% said “yes”)
It’s worth mentioning that these polls date back over several months, but I think they do a good job of illustrating fairly unbiased questions related to impeachment.

He must have run into that doctor on that Star Trek TNG episode where Worf needed a new spine grown and surgically implanted.

If Donald Trump were to be railroaded with fake news and treasonous accusations by socialists, and worse, would you be in favor of impeachment over that, considering how much money Hunter Biden was paid by a Ukraineian company?
Now that is how you write a totally unbiased poll question! Well done, bobot !
