The Trump Presidency HAS to end with Impeachment... right?

Yesterday, actually.

Check out the first response: History will smile upon you as the brave Senator who complained about it and then did nothing

To be fair, the memo doesn’t order him to stop and (for anyone in the general public who thinks about it for a few seconds) from what we know of Trump, it’s not unreasonable to expect him to have made such a mistake at the time. He should now be acutely aware of the fact that the FBI is not meant to be a political entity. When Flynn was fired, he might not have been and probably hadn’t yet been told to not do anything like this.

From that article:

“The memo was part of a paper trail Mr. Comey created documenting what he perceived as the president’s improper efforts to influence a continuing investigation.”

And…

“Mr. Comey created similar memos — including some that are classified — about every phone call and meeting he had with the president, the two people said. It is unclear whether Mr. Comey told the Justice Department about the conversation or his memos.”

Oh please, oh please, oh please…

Trump also asked Comey if he could jail journalists who publish leaked secrets. Because the First Amendment and due process are for chumps.

Am I the only one hoping that Trump gets impeached and removed from office, and then runs again in 2020? C’mon, you know that would be awesome.

That’s often exaggerated. Lifespans have increased to a large extent because of decreases in child mortality. According to CDC Data, U.S. life expectancy at birth increased from 73.7 years to 78.7 from 1980 to 2010, but life expectancy at 65 only increased from 16.4 years to 19.1.

So, 65 is the new 63, or 62 at best.

I understand that this is tongue-in-cheek and the BBQ Pit, but it is probably the case that a president, once removed from office that way, is not Constitutionally eligible to run again and wouldn’t be put on any ballots if he tried - although, who knows, maybe millions of Trump voters would write him in as a write-in.

How ironic, this from the Leaker In Chief.

“This time, I know what to do!”

Which part of the constitution are you talking about?

Article I, Section 3, Clause 7:

From the article…

NY Times

[QUOTE=NYTimes]
Late Tuesday night, Representative Jason Chaffetz, Republican of Utah and chairman of the House Oversight Committee, demanded the F.B.I. turn over all internal memos, notes, recordings or summaries of discussions between Mr. Trump and Mr. Comey.

This is the resigning GOPer. Hmm…

I get the sense that Chaffetz has decided that he might be able to go down in history as the savior of the nation from that treasonous Donald Trump, rather than the Judas of the Republican party. At least, he seems to sense that it’s started to earn a hard look before deciding to leave his post.

I have been having a little bit of a smile from the schadenfreude over how fucked upright-walking-jellyfish Paul Ryan’s ambitions are.
If he calls for impeachment the Trumpicans will never forgive. If he doesn’t, the independents who actually elect the president, will forever associate him with the stench.

I think we’re on our way. To use a shop-worn phrase, the tipping point has been reached. It’s still a ways down the slope, but Trump will be impeached.

I believe I have judged our Comey correctly and for all the world, no sane official would try and outsmart that feller. But then, I’ve had doubts about Trump’s sanity for quite some time. It doesn’t seem to have occurred to him that Comey surely anticipated that being fired was one likely outcome of Trump’s election, and Comey already had enough slime on Trump way last summer to be alarmed over Trump’s ties to Russia. Did Trump honestly believe Comey would not have documented every single thing?

I am sick at the damage that’s already been done and how much more will be done by monstrous Republicans who seem only interested in seeing how deep they can get their greedy mitts into the cookie jar before Trump is out. But with luck, we can time it to coincide with the 2018 mid-terms.

I’m not sure if you intended the double entendre on “leaker”, but if so, bravo.

Gold !

“Trump Officials on Comey Memo: ‘Don’t See How Trump Isn’t Completely F*cked’”

Trump is attempting to speedrun the Nixon Presidency… so far he’s achieved in just over 100 days what took Nixon almost 7 years :joy:

The phrase “Watergate on meth” occurred to me tonight.

I’ve looked at a few pro donald forums, and they are openly advocating fascism and violence if Trump is impeached.

The thing is if you’re going to be a fascist wouldn’t you at least want a competent leader? Who could possibly want to live under incompetent fascism? (As they say at least mussolini made the trains run on time…)
