brightpenny, we have a TMI championship going. swampy is, I believe, generally considered to be the all-around champ, but the title occasionally goes to others. Also, he is the most juvenile, although I fondly remember the week that Ashes and I got to have that title. One of the (the only?) upsides of Rue getting a job outside the home is that he can tell us about stuff that pops out of animals (since he works for a vet). Anal glands, cysts, pee…we’ve heard them all. Now I’m ooogieing myself out.
Anyway, welcome! And Ewwwwwwww. But yes, I’m sure your son and his friends will be impressed.
Dunno, Lissla, 10 hours sounds kinda long to me. How many rounds of kneading?
I’m still basking in a slightly mulch-scented glow. Which will stop as soon as I get to work, I’m sure, since I have a meeting-filled agenda this morning.
Welcome pen! Pretty good TMI there. I’m not really as TMI as others would have you to believe. Just sometimes. Oh, the juvenile part, well, that’s true. I <snerk> an awful lot. You’re son and his friends would love to see snot/pus shoot out of your eye. That’s grade A entertainment for boys.
Today I get to finish working on an application to get ourselves all re-accredited at work. Well, sorta kinda finish it. I have a page of questions to go bug people about and as I finish up going through the app, I just know I’ll have more. People will be hiding under their desks before the week’s out. It feels so good to wield that kind of power!
Swampy, I had Chinese carryout for dindin last night, and I have the most apt fortune ever.
*You have a secret admirer. *
What makes this so funny and pathetically ironic is that IRL I’ve attracted a cyberstalker from another board I hang out on. Think David Letterman and Margaret Ray. I’ve not hidden this from VunderWife, BTW.
So, <snerk> away, and I’ll do my damnedest to make sure it doesn’t come true. Ick.
Wow, brightpenny, that’s kinda neat … in a really disgusting way. I think it’s just something that happens sometimes, but it’s also possible that your eye is loose, so you’d probably better get to a doctor. But then you have to come back and tell us what’s going on! And don’t get hit in the head. You get hit in the head, your eye could come right out.
I went to get my car inspected last night, and I failed! I never in a million years thought my car would fail, but there it is, sitting in the parking lot with a big ol’ REJECTED sticker on it. Makes me sad. So now I’ve left a message for somebody at the dealership to call me back about fixing it, and I have the feeling that my blissfully free weekend is about to get screwed up.
I can’t beleive I’m gonna say this, and give swampy a chance to make a snarky comment, but we’re whores Lissla. Anything strolling related is good, so museums and the like are our thing. Are there any good parks or hikes near Toronto? Malling, shopping, not really us unless it’s stuff no human can afford. Looking at stuff that costs more than our house is interesting, but we won’t wander into a Macy’s or anything like that.
I think my longest (thread) was the add-a-line limerick thread a while back. I think it made 5 pages. Possibly more. I was amazed.
I just ate the most amazing pear, there was juice running everywhere, it was perfect. Mom sent her regularly scheduled Harry & David gift basket for easter, so I’m up to here in Granny Smiths, and juicy pears. And chocolate truffles, and smoked salmon.
Love mom.
In moments I have to run to the golf club to meet the catering lady to make arrangements for the mucho large outing my Foundation is holding in June. She likes to meet in the grill where we have breakfast. So yeah, a huge pear, followed by a big breakfast. Urp.
I would expect nothing less from you, swampy. So today I have to rework my research thesis paper from the ground up, it needs to be ready for the school to consider and possibly give me awards and money. I’ll be doing this all day, and then tonight I’ll be doing the homework I didn’t do last night. Grah.
Well, I must say that this is terribly unfair. Yesterday-coolish, gray and windy. Today? Bright, calm, warm and gorgeous.
So, of course it is today that I have a meeting at work–at 12pm! Isn’t that crazy? I am off today, but hafta go in smack in the middle of my day–so no grubbing in the dirt this morning–I hope to do so after the meeting.
Spats --I really don’t know Yiddish (except for All of a Kind Family and SNL), so some translation would be good.
I fiind it funny that the ad for that bissli states that it couldn’t be “more Israeli–straightfoward and unpretentious”.
Now there’s a ad campaign for ya! Eat X! It’s straightfoward and unpretentious!
**BrightPenny ** - welcome to where the cool kids hang. This new found talent of yours, does it have any potential to, say, stop a mugger in his tracks?
Well, I’m at work. You can tell, because I’m posting during the day. My back still hurts, and for some bizarre reason, I have a stomach ache. I haven’t eaten anything lately that I haven’t been eating for the last few months, so I have no idea what brought it on. But it is souring my mood, dammit. (Sipping at my 44oz coffee probably isn’t helping, but I’m a caffeine addict…no, I will not 12-step that.)
Aw, damn, riggs played the grownup card. No energy drugs for the rest of us. ::sigh::
penny, just eeeeewwwww!!! Get thee to a doctor.
gotti, blow somma that rain down here. We need it. That lil spriinkle we got the other night just pissed off the grass.
I decided that all the extra spring-cleanin like activity has inspired me so I’m goint (goint? goint?? WTF kinda word is that? On preview I decided to leave it in cause it’s funny.) to take the next two days off. That way I will have more time to spruce up for the family dinner on Easter Sunday. There will be NO squirrel served. Just some lamb (sorry, Hall) and pork.

Man, I should have kept Scotland on my list of places to go for vacation this summer, because now I’d have a friend! Welcome, skinny! And don’t worry, I can’t shoot snot out of my eye, either. But it’s something to work towards.
Hi, everybody! Surprised to see me? I’m surprised to see me!
I have no real wonderful news or anything. I have been considering non-tortorous ways to make the turtle talk or something. I guess I’ll just play lots of music. Anyway, next week you’ll see me in here every day, since I really have nothing else to do in the evenings…I was thinking about doing a Hindu Holiday of the Day. Would you guys be interested? Sort of stealing the idea from Spats, but I always like sharing bits of my culture. What do you guys think?
Anyway, I started watching King Kong this morning, that someone lent me. I’m also going to be watching all kinds of movies next week, and Saturday I’ll hit the library and stock up. Ten days all alone! Yuck!
Lovely weather here (Boston) today, and I’m stuck in the office with nothing to do. Everything got done yesterday! And I’m having a bad hair day. I started biking to the subway now that it’s warm enough, and I can see I’m going to have to start packing a hairbrush in my backpack.
Sorry I forgot about the kitty pics. :smack: I probably won’t be able to post them tonight, either, because I won’t be getting home 'til 'round 10, and then it’s straight to bed. Soon, though, I promise!
