An Inconvenient Truth.
TLDR, what do you want to debate?
Lone links without commentary are not generally received well here.
I’m gay. So it’s not completely straight.
P.S. What are you talking about?
Sometimes the “straight dope” isn’t well received, either.
No one wants to hear or see what they don’t want to see or hear and certainly not in a forum where we have so many self-appointed experts and intelligentsia.
I sure as hell am not following a link that runs past the hovertext.
What is the topic of debate here?
Why don’t you summarize, in your own words, what’s contained in the link you posted? Or else quote the leading paragraph or two?
I am talking about the re-ligitimization of anti-semitism, as though it ever went away, which it never really did. It has always been just below the surface, and lately, not even.
You think it’s present and accepted here? Got a link or two?
I don’t have to be “politically correct” because I am a big girl and I can take the “slings and arrows of outrageous fortune”.
Fire away, all you want.
Start with one, “The Pipeline of Hatred”. Anti-semitism 101, as it were.
Please state what is being debated here, please.
I took a look. It appears to be a PowerPoint presentation about radical Islam promoting anti-Semitism, though you have to click through quite a few cards before you can actually see what it’s about.
I tried to watch that film. I really did. But after 10 minutes of Al Gore talking at me like I was a 5th grader, I gave up. But I’m not one of those ant-global warming folks he was targeting anyway.
You don’t seem to understand what a debate is.
You say something. Someone disagrees. You both present evidence and arguments for your respective viewpoints.
But you have to start off by actually making a claim of some sort.
“The slings and arrows of outrageous fortune” is bad stuff happening to you outside your control, like your uncle killing your father and marrying your mother. Not criticism caused by your own super-edgy non-PCness.
Maybe instead of the pre-conceived conclusion to an unnamed debate, something like “The Re-Legitimization of Anti-Semitism” would have been a better thread topic?
Your courage is an inspiration to us all.
Or at least, that’s what I would say, if only I wasn’t too afraid of angering the self-appointed experts and intelligentsia around here.
Well, I can think of one Jewish person I’m starting to dislike intensely.
I’ve come a long way from those pre-school days at Temple Emanu El.
Wtf? Are we seriously supposed to sit through a (crappy) PowerPoint presentation?
