Paxton survives another week. He was in the bottom with Nick Hagelin. Paxton beat him by less than 100 twitter votes., Thats about as close as it gets.
I think I shifted from a parallel universe. I could have sworn it was Paxton that went home.
Oh well at any rate I did think Paxton was better; Not just last night, but in general. I hate to sound like an a-hole, but lately Nick has been sounding second rate to me. I’m kind of surprised he made it this far.
So next week is the semifinals. I’m guessing there will be five eliminations to give us the top three finalists?
Or is it 4 in the finals? I seem to recall that they did something weird in a previous season; like getting to 3 then having one singer get added back into the mix? Did I hallucinate that?
Leading up to this point though, logically it seems they’d eliminate 2 people a week instead of one, but I suppose doing it this way gives the viewing audience more opportunities to see most of the competitors.
Pretty sure they said 4 will get eliminated tomorrow.
Very good semi-final. I enjoyed all the performances. The duets were a nice surprise. I’ll comment more later after rewatching on youtube.
Just saw the Alisan and Adam duet. That is one of the most beautiful performances I’ve ever heard.
Yes, this was an unusually good semi-final. They got very strong talent going into the finals.
Alisan Porter & Adam Wakefield both had very strong performances. The duet especially was a stunner. Adam’s version of I’m Sorry couldn’t have been better. Alisan did a good job with Desperado. But it’s hard top the Eagles version.
Shalyah Fearing & Paxton Ingram duet was the weakest imho. It was not a Masterpiece LOL. Paxton struggled with I’d Do Anything for Love. I’d don’t expect either of them to survive this cut before the final.
Hannah Huston did a good job with When a Man Loves a Woman. But they mentioned in rehearsal that it was kind of one note. I thought she still had that problem in the performance too. It just didn’t build and get exciting as the song went along. A nice job. It may get her in the final. I’m not sure.
People need to avoid Adele songs. Laith Al-Saadi did ok with One and Only. But it wasn’t his best effort this season. The Duet with Hannah seemed a little forced. There were times Hannah seemed like a backup singer in that duet.
A rare night when I liked nearly all the songs. A few weak ones but still entertaining.
Still not sure about the final. I think it’s down to Alisan or Adam. Either one could win it. Laith will be there too. I’m not sure about the 4th name. Maybe Bryan Bautista?
While I agree with most of what you said I’m thinking a little bit differently when it comes to the finals. See, I’m 100% positive that Shalyah and Alisan are getting into the finals. I’m thinking probably Adam for the third. And I have no idea for the fourth. Hopefully Bryan.
I don’t think Paxton will make it.
I believe that Mary started strong but has been waning, although tonight she gave a better performance than she has in weeks.
Laith has really grown and to be honest, I didn’t think it would be possible. Has he grown enough to get into the finals? I don’t know.
When they mentioned Hannah was coming up, I had completely forgotten her voice and style. I thought she did great tonight and based on that performance alone I could see her getting into the finals.
I totally forgot about Mary Sarah. You’re right she’s probably going to the finals. That may mean Laith gets pushed out.
I really hope Adam makes it. He’s become my favorite this season.
But Alisan is the clear favorite to win. Unless she really screws up in the final.
Couple surprises. I wasn’t expecting Hannah to get through. But that’s good news that Pharrell still has someone in the final.
That left a brutal live sing off between Laith, Bryan and Mary Sarah. A harsh choice because all three have been excellent all season. Laith pulled out the big guns with Jimi Hendrix. I knew then he’d get the votes. Hendrix is hard rock at its best and Laith shredded the crap out of those riffs. He is an excellent guitarist.
Shalyah’s gone. NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
Wow, for a while I felt that Laith had flatlined, but then the last three weeks he seems to have grown by leaps and bounds. I’m a big fan now.
I have no idea who’s going to win. The singers I love the most seem to go home, so…
Seems like it’s anyones to win next week. Alisan seems to be the favorite but anything can happen on The Voice. The final performances can easily shift the voting to someone with a breakout moment.
So the final four are Alisan, Adam, Laith and Hannah. Each coach has one artist remaining.
As wonderful as Adam Wakefield is, I want any coach but Blake to win.
Just saw Laith’s original. Great job, but his music seemed liked a Frankenstein. Different parts reminded me of different songs. One part strongly made me think of The Honeydrippers “Sea of Love”. Still a great performance though.
OK, my opinions.
Alisan did as well as I expected and I’m positive that she will win.
Hannah surprised me. I thought that she wouldn’t do that well, but she did great. A strong second place in my opinion.
I was expecting Adam to be good, and he was.
Laith was my second surprise. The last couple of weeks I thought he grew by leaps and bounds, and then, except for his original song, took a step backwards tonight.
The highlight for me was Adam Wakefield and Blake Shelton - Finale: “The Conversation”. Hearing Blake Shelton singing Waylon Jenning’s part blew me away. I nice reminder that Blake used to sing classic country.
I really like Adam. He’s one of the strongest true country artists I’ve seen on the Voice. I’m looking forward to his first album coming out.
I realize Alisan probably has this win tied up. She’s been the most consistent all season. She’s really good. I’m not sure what kind of career waits after The Voice. I don’t get a strong sense of the original music that she’ll release. She may be another Voice winner nobody remembers in a couple years.
A strong final. Here’s the recap.
Laith Al-Saadi and Adam Levine Beatles Medley was ambitious. Trying to mix that many different songs into a live performance is tough.
I enjoyed it and respect the effort it must have taken to arrange and learn. Adam seemed to be having a blast playing drums and then switching to guitar. LOL great stuff.
Not Laif’s best night otherwise. Seemed like he went back to his bar band roots. Good music but nothing that will win The Voice.
Most Voice winners and other contestants who get a recording contract seemed to get dropped by their labels pretty quickly. I wonder how much is poor sales and how much is the artists fighting with a record company that wants to take advantage of them.
Alisan has showbiz experience, so I think she knows what to expect and how to work with the producers and record company executives. And if she puts out music that sells then I expect her to be at least fairly successful. A lot more so than other winners.
I switched to NBC at 9:52. Just in time to see the winner announced.
Pretty much ended like I expected for the past few weeks.
Same here. Well, I hope Alisan get the career she’s always wanted.
