Tony Vincent’s wife had her baby. A little girl 7lbs 8oz. I bet Tony will be very excited in tomorrows live show.

Christina is SUCH a mean girl. I couldn’t believe how biased she is against everyone who isn’t on her team. Adam gave the most honest assessments. She was downright rude to Tony Lucca.
I haven’t been a fan until now, but Juliet Sims killed Roxane.
I don’t want to like Juliet (I preferred Sarah in the battle rounds) but she took a big step toward winning me over.
I also don’t want to like Jamar, but that kicked all kinds of ass.
Christina was grouchy tonight.

Pip wears a white shirt and bow tie for a rock song? What the heck??? I guess he wants to be the next Pat Boone. Pip is just too baby faced to pull off rock star right now. He looks like a kid in Middle School.
I liked Tony Lucca and Tony Vincent tonight. Juliet Simms was by far the best I’ve heard in the live contests. I never really liked The Police’s Roxanne. Juliet made me like this song for the first time in my life.
I still think Mathai needs to listen to her parents and go back to medical school. Erin Martin nearly put me to sleep with her Walk like an Egyptian. I think it needs to be renamed Snore like an Egyptian.
I’m not sure about Karla Davis. I just hate that song Airplanes. I think my dislike for the song made me dislike her too.
Karaoke winner of the night was James Massone. That wasn’t a performance. It was Karaoke.
I wanted to like Kim based on her past performances, but all I could think was that Adele made that song look easy compared to her performance. I wanted to like Jamar and did. I didn’t like Juliet before at all, but I liked how she sang that song, despite not liking that type of music or her type of voice.
I’m not much into music, so I’m always surprised when the coaches say things that I agree with. That’s been part of the fun of watching this show for me.
Adam really fell down on the coaching this week, IMO. He should never have let Kim do that song, everyone and their grandmother is *over *that song, and even if she’d absolutely killed it (which she didn’t) most people would still think “Meh.” Pip’s, Karla’s and Matthai’s song’s were almost equally ill-considered, and none of them had the opportunity to really shine. (I will credit Matthai for toning it down a little tonight, but not enough.) I loved Tony Lucca after the blind auditions, but what has he done for me lately? Not much. I did enjoy Katrina’s performance.
Cee Lo, on the other hand, was kind of a genius with the song selections this evening, with the possible exception of Tony Vincent, who I’m just never going to like anyway. That said, I still wasn’t actually impressed with any of his crew except for Juliet and Jamar. Juliet blew me away and made up for her unearned win over Sarah in the battle rounds, and I’m always impressed with Jamar, no matter what silly things he does to his hair.
I choose to believe that he was openly mocking Erin Martin with Walk Like an Egyptian. I really, really hope she goes home tonight, because in addition to her awful singing, I cannot abide the stank look that she wears whenever anyone says anything to her other than “you’re awesome”. Erin Martin, if you’re reading here… you have cankles.
When I hear the official version of “Rolling in the Deep” I smile. When I hear a cover of it I usually cringe. I didn’t cringe at Kim’s version. I thought she did pretty good job.
Tony Lucca singing “In Your Eyes” sounded kind cheesy to me. And I couldn’t believe how harsh Christina was. Did something happen off camera to make her hate him?
And the other Tony, Tony Vincent, and Juliet, I thought both had good voices, they were just wrong for the songs that they sang.
And finally, Erin sang much better than she’s sang before. She’s still not good, but I didn’t cringe like I did during the battle rounds.
Tony Lucca- He just seems cheesy, with all the facial expresions and such, and actually not that great a singer. I think Christina is tough because she is being overly concerned about making it look like she favors him, so she is doing just the opposite. Still, not good.
Pip- Meh, so forced and seemingly out of his elemnt. Still he sung well.
Karla Davis - There was nothing in her singing, it seemed very weak and breathy to me.
Katrina Parker - I generally like her, and I thought it was fine, but I totally agree with the judges who said it was missing a lot of the emotional ummph that the song needs.
Kim Yarbrough - Bad song choice, but sung very well.
Mathei - I like Mathei, but don’;t love her, I think she will stick around a little bit more, but will be gone within a couple of weeks.
Erin Martin - Ugh…just ugh.
Jamar Rogers - Awesome, amazing, fantastic. He has been one of my faves from the start. Owned that stage…owned it! ANd he can sing.
James Massone - Hard for me to judge, because I cannot at all get into this guys singing, but I also get that it isn’t meant for me so much (44 yo man).
Juliet Simms - Great raspiness to her voice that I love, although I get others are not fans. I loved her performance and I thought it was the best of the night.
Tony Vincent - I dunno, I want t like him, but he is just to stagey and broadway for me. His singing does not excite me at all, but it doesn’t make me stabby either.
Cheesa - Very good performance, probably my third favorite after Jamar and Juliet.
- Juliet
- Jamar
- Cheesa
- Kim
- Pip
- Mathei
- Katrina
- Jason
- Karla
- Tony Simms
11.Tony Lucca - Erin
Eh, I think Christina is just doing everything she can to knock off the competition.
I’m just baffled by the fans selections for the three saves. I spent the majority of my first thirty years of life performing music in various ways. I think I’ve got a fairly decent ear for talent.
I don’t know WTF America is hearing that I’m not. They saved several of the absolute worst in tonights vote results. There were a couple that I agreed with like Juliet Simms.
James Massone? The guy I called Karaoke boy this week? America loves this guy?
Mathai got saved? Go back on your DVR and watch Adams reaction. He was just as shocked and disgusted as I am. Something is totally F-up for that lady to be in this competition now.
dang, I need to replace my speakers and get a hearing aid. I sure as heck don’t understand these votes.
I know it’s just a silly tv show. What makes me sick is really good talent went home tonight and someone like Mathai is still there. That’s why Adam had that disgusted look. He knew he’d have to send somebody more talented home.
I am very glad Katrina Parker did a good job in the elimination sing off and Adam saved her. She’s the underdog I’m hoping can surprise everyone.
I really don’t think doing a Bonnie Raitt song is a good idea in any singing competition. I’ve seen Adele do a bad job of it. You can cover Elton John or Whitney Houston or Mariah Carey, and while you won’t meet the standard they set, you can still sound really good. You can’t do Al Green or Johnny Cash or Bonnie Raitt without sounding like a really weak imitation.
For team Adam I thought Kim did the best job personally. I thought that she and Katrina did better than Karla, whose voice was too weak and breathy for me.
For team Cee Lo I agreed with saving Ceesa over Tony and Erin. Of course Erin shouldn’t have been there in the first place. I loved it when Chessa nailed that long note. I was kind of unsure about her and then when she did it I loved her.
While I agree with you about being baffled, I actually went back to my TIVO and played back Adam’s reaction while I was watching live. It looked more to me like he just deadpan, like he was for everyone.
For me, there was no question about who would win the elimination rounds tonight after their performances. It’s so interesting how they change for every performance. I couldn’t remember anything about Katrina Parker before tonight, but she clearly won it tonight. Kim looked like she gave up before she started. She looked like her mind was on the next thing. I didn’t like Cheesa before, but her performance tonight was clearly the best of that crowd. Erin Martin wasn’t as quirky as the previous performances so it was easier to notice her voice, and I was surprised by it.
Adams sort of stared and then looked away, rubbing his mouth when Mathai was called safe. It looked to me like he was shocked and he was trying to hide his expression.
Maybe it was that sushi he had for supper. Adam is pretty good at hiding his feelings.
On a positive note: Erin Martin is gone. I couldn’t take her ego and attitude much longer. I’ve never seen anyone else on The Voice react so negatively to coaching.
This is dumb, but I can’t stand Cheesa only because of how she spells her name.
Your name is Chessa. Cheesa is something entirely different.
Yes it is. Cheeza is Mattai.
Dear America,
Fuck you very much.

Kim and Katrina should NEVER have both been up for elimination. Let’s face it, Christina isn’t really wrong about Tony Lucca, he’s okay but not great. Pip has a lovely voice, but belongs on Glee, and Mattai also has a lovely voice, but she needs a couple of years of training to have all the annoying mannerisms beaten out of her.
On the upside, I no longer have to listen to Erin Martin or look at Voldemort.
In my head it is always pronounced Cheese-Ah!
Please please please! explain to me the appeal of “Southie” James Massone. I have never liked his voice although he could probably do a passable kareoke of Frankie Valli’s “Can’t Take My Eyes Off of You” and the way he [strike]mangled[/strike] performed that Norah Jones song … has he ever read the lyrics? It’s not the customary love song.
