He’s a big 'un! And adorable - love the grumpy faced photo.
I’m seconding the beer (or wine) thing. My college roommate had the same problem with her 2.0 boy. Her doctor told her to drink a beer or a glass of wine about 15 minutes before nursing and it would help calm him. She swears it worked.
I feel your pain, Ruffian. We have a colicky 10-week-old at home. He has a little bit of reflux and our best solution has been Gripe Water and swaddling him SUPERTIGHT when he’s fussy. My friend is a nurse in a PICU and told us about the swaddling.
We hadn’t been doing it during the day, and it took a few tries to get it right. Our first never cared much for swaddling. 2.0 was 14 pounds (!) at his 2-month checkup, and I thought he was getting too big for swaddling in general. But once he starts cranking up now, I strap his arms down by his sides in a daytime swaddler and bounce him. He loooooooves that.
Just don’t spend the rest of your life blaming him for his crying. I was a colicky baby, and my father never let me forget how I had deliberately prevented him from sleeping.
