To paraphrase i.e., plagiarize White Mansions, “When you’re fighting zombies, a Red Neck is your best friend”.
I think he said something like “I’m not going back to camp to tell Jane that a couple of assholes killed Dave and Tony and we didn’t do anything.”
Now, “Jane” might refer to a woman, or it may refer to a man with the last name Jane or Jayne.
This is the best idea I’ve heard so far.
That never happened, except in Firefly.
Which is more believable, zombies or space cowboys?
Would you believe space cowboys fighting against [del]reavers[/del] zombies?
If Randall actually is a local boy and know’s Herschal’s name it would be pretty easy to locate the farm. Just find a local phone book and look up his address. :smack: He’s not all that tech savy so it’s a given he has (well had) a landline & if he ran his practice out of his farm it would be in the yellow pages.
It was Jane and I’m certain it was a woman; probally the smart one’s wife/girl/sister. Having women & children in their group doesn’t make them any less dangerous; if anything it’d make the men even more dangerous. The fat one didn’t mentioned he hasn’t gotten any lately, but that could just mean all the women in the group are “attached” to other, stronger men.
Speaking of women; if Randall was a woman how do you think the group would’ve reacted? I doubt locking her up would’ve even occured to anyone & they’d probally actively try to help her get in touch with her group, and that could end just as badly as this will.
I don’t understand what point you’re trying to make here. If it’s that Randall’s group can find Hershel’s farm without Randall, well, they don’t know it’s inhabited. ![]()
I don’t think he had to die at that point. He told them he knew Maggie because he was trying to convince them not to leave him. He wanted to be part of their group and told them about Maggie in order to convince them that he was a cool local kid. The response was a gunshot that missed his head by inches, a beating, chaining him in a barn, talk of killing him, putting a gun to his head and only refraining from splattering his brains because of an interruption.
If I were Randall, I’d never want to be a part of a psychotic asshole group like that. Now, because of Rick’s group’s own actions, he will have to die because if he ever got loose, he might harm or kill members of the group in what is really justifiable self defense.
You don’t know that for a fact, and neither does our Motley Crew.
And, so far, nobody has thought to ask Maggie about him.
As others have said, that wouldn’t definitely clear it up, either - she could have been older than he is and have no clue they were in the same school together. I think the bottom line is that he might know Maggie and her father and where the farm is, and that’s enough for them to make their decision on.
If Maggie knew him, I think she would have said something in the group discussion.
Why else would he have said it? They were going to leave him, he could have been free to go back to his crew or whatever, but he seemed genuinely frantic about it and was begging not to be left. He’s a scared kid.
It’s still moot now though. He could be Mother Teresa but since they’ve tortured and tried to kill him they better not let him get loose now.
How did he know that Maggie was in their group?
I don’t think they mentioned it, but hasn’t he seen Herschel? It appears to be a small enough town that people would know Maggie was the local veterinarian’s daughter.
Still, if you’re going to have a character make such a statement in defense of his life, the least you could do is address it with the other character, Maggie.
He even said Maggie never paid any attention to him and had no idea he existed.
Since they decided to kill him *because *he knows Maggie, I don’t see what good asking her about him would do. It’s probably kinder not say “Hey, we’re killing that weird kid who used to sit at the table next to yours at lunch because he knows you.”
Ah.
Thanks!
What now?
As soon as Dale stumbled on that poor disembowled cow I was all “OMG don’t just stand there! Use your gun and put the poor thing out of its misery!” but then I realized that obviously it was done by a walker and a gunshot would attract it/them.
AND THEN we all know what happened…
Wow, Carl is as much of a raging moron as his mother. Stupid dipshit. When he was playing “hit the zombie with a rock” it was the first time I ever rooted for the zombie. He all wanted to learn how to shoot a gun but then couldn’t use it to save his own life?
Going to be interesting how they deal with if Carl reveals that he’s the one who let the zombie out of the swamp and is therefore responsible for Dale and one of the cows being killed.
Rick and Shane originally thought they could get rid of Randall for good by blindfolding him, then leaving him somewhere miles away from the farm. If he wasn’t familiar with the area, he’d never be able to find his way back and the farm would be safe from him and his group. Then it turned out that he knew Maggie, meaning there was a good chance he knew where the farm was and that all the steps they took to make sure he didn’t know where he was might not have done any good. Shane and Rick were about to leave; they were ignoring Randall begging and pleading them not to abandon him, until he said he knew Maggie, then they both lost it and Shane tried to shoot him. That’s also why Rick had a change of heart and said they’d probably have to kill him.
