The Walking Dead; 2.11 "Judge, Jury, Executioner" (open spoilers)

with the assumption that Randall is a valid danger, did the episode intentionally parallel Carl’s inability to shoot the walker with his dad and Randall?

that would be something, though i doubt they’d go there.

what with that recent thread on nudity vs violence, this pique my interest. were you being sarcastic or did you really mean that tearing a persons chest out, bare-handed and with the requisite gushing blood, isn’t gory?

what? we must be watching different shows. with the fight between Shane and Rick, we see that Shane had no intention of actually killing Rick; while Rick actually had a moment where he considered leaving Shane in the bus. Darryl on the other hand has more bark than bite, and had been nothing but an asset to the broken group. it’s a wonder that he actually tolerates the group’s idiocy instead of striking off on his own.

Like I said upthread, when you’re fighting zombies, a red neck is your best friend.

Once again, Lori is featured on The Internet.

Not sarcastic. Relatively speaking, this episode wasn’t all that gory. If my husband had watched the episode where they were dragging the Walker out of the well, he would have had to change the channel. He won’t watch America’s Funniest Videos because he might see a kid spitting up or blowing snot bubbles.

Well, no one wants to see that.

I have a fanwank for the cow death. The zombie bit it somewhere soft, nose, anus, whichever. And the cow came down with the fever sickness. Maybe it only took a couple hours to make the cow sick enough to lie down, leaving the zombie free to dig at it until he got the belly open.

Was it? I don’t know what the spoiler was and I don’t want to know what it is. I just want to know if it’s happened yet.

Nope, it hasn’t.

Random junk:

Back at the bus depot (or whatever it was), the thing that made Rick turn back and save Randall was when Randall yelled that he knew Maggie. How did he - at that time - know that Maggie was connected to Rick and Shane?

I actually felt bad for the mud-stuck walker. How frustrating that must have been, getting both legs stuck in the muck! I hate when that happens!

When Carl approached Randall in the barn, Randall’s demeanor changed completely; it was then that I felt he could not be trusted. Caused me to flash back to when, on Lost, they captured Ben and he kept insisting he was an innocent school teacher (or something) and had nothing to do with the Others.

Darryl’s beating/torture of Randall was way out of line, pointless, counter-productive, and damn stupid.

By now, with Randall’s horrific penetrating leg wound, he should be in a fever-burning, sweat-drenched, delusional state of septic shock; instead, he’s calmly and clearly trying to game Carl. I hope his tetanus immunizations are current.

Dale annoyed the hell out of me since day one. But I already miss him. Don’t it always seem to go that you don’t know what you’ve got 'til it’s gone?
mmm

By that time he’d been convalescing at the farm for a week. She may have brought him food or water.

He was treated by Hershel and had been laid up for a week. I assume they gave him magic TV antibiotics.

He said he knows her dad. Herschel. Who nearly cut his leg off.

So why doesn’t Rick just step aside and let Shane be in charge? It would allow Rick to spend more time with Lori (+baby) and Carl, while also a reminder to Shane that this is Rick’s family, not his.

Because Rick doesn’t trust him to make the decisions.

Shane lost his alliance of two right at the beginning of the first season and never sought to replace it until now (with Andrea). he has no hope of winning at the final tribal council without a social game. Rick on the other hand, might not have worked very much on his alliances, but everyone knows he will try his damnest to get you back if you got lost or something.

ah perhaps i too have been inured to the walkers. (picturing Andrea picking up the walker arm for disposal) the well walker felt more like a popped zit, disgusting but not gory.

Now that you say this, I think “disgusting” is a better word than “gory”, for describing stuff my husband won’t watch. He’s okay with people losing body parts. But snot, pus, guts, vomit, poop – nuh uh.
