I had to fast forward through the pig slaughter. Killing walkers :), killing animals :(. Even the rat made me cringe.
I think the girl is the one feeding them. She probably just wanted to feed “Nick” and then the others started coming around. And now she’s “messed up” with a knife. That might not turn out so well.
Yeah, she might become the New Carl. Cough once and she’ll stab you in the head. Kids are creepy.
Someone on another site suggested hanta virus as the possible cause of disease and I was thinking the same thing with the rats. Obviously they have a lot if someone is able to easily capture several at a time to feed walkers.
On the subject of antibiotics, I hope that they have been hitting pharmacies and collecting antibiotics and other medications. They do not suddenly go bad when they expire, they may lose potency but not immediately, and depending on the drug, many have a year or two dating on them.
Today’s episode was ok, but just not enough zombie fights. But, i guess its going to be hard to top zombie rain. If you set the bar that high, you should be ready to raise it even higher.
I think we’re meant to think that Carol did it. They’ve certainly spent enough time with her preaching about how you have to be strong, and she is one of the few people that we know of that is aware of what caused the zombie break-out.
She’s gotten a little scary. I know things have changed, but encouraging a 12 year old to stab her dad in his ear, and then haranguing her when she can’t do it seems a little over the top.
I dunno. If there is one thing TWD has taught us is that you don’t fuck around with waiting for a dead body to turn. Little girl needs to learn that toot sweet.
Any dead body, sure. Your dad’s? When there’s someone else right there to do it? How about we take a more developmental approach rather than sink or swim. The whole Carol thread was cold and strange.
Most certainly your dad. After it’s dead, it ain’t your dad anymore, it’s a killing machine. Kill it before it kills you and more of your loved ones. Carol is being smart and realistic. It’s a cold, strange world they are living in now.
And complete emotional detachment isn’t as simple as you suggest. Of course, that’s a theme that the writers are hitting us over the head with. But Rick is still struggling with it, and Carl was screwed up by the experience of killing his mother, and the crazy woman in the woods was completely unable to detatch. Perhaps your version of “realistic” is a bit skewed?
Good episode. Now that we’ve got guns on dad and son, I expect some real action next week. Rick is extremely lucky he’s got Daryl as his First Lieutenant.
Of course if the baby goes all zombie on them, will it push Rick back over the hill into Crazytown?
I’m not sure if he’s totally warmed to the baby either, he seems to be standoffish, perhaps due to the uncertainty of her parentage? Shane or Rick, it’s not like they can do a paternity test in the ZA anyway
I would have liked to see Michonne remain resistant to the baby, instead of going soft and comforting, then again I’m not a fan of babies/kids in the shows I watch
That’s what’s been annoying me about the series. They seem to be able to fight the walkers fairly well once they’re surrounded, but they’d do a hell of a lot better if they put some thought into it. Make some spring-loaded locks for the cell doors, and sleep individually. If you’re going into an area that’s got a lot of walkers, make some sort of remote noisemaker. Improvise some simple body armor. Cut your damn hair.
It’s sad that their biggest technological advancement in walker killin’ has been poking them through the fence with crowbars.
This is something I’m really happy about. I understand the drama and conflict, but I dislike stories of mutiny being sown, or at least confusion regarding loyalties and leadership. Back when we weren’t sure how long Daryl would stick with the group (or even attempt some sort of coup), the show got uninteresting for me (at least in that regard). Building Daryl’s character up as a clear #2 is logical and, IMO, allows for a more interesting direction to take the story.
Why don’t they set up a “crybaby” type zombie lure away from the prison, like in Woodbury, set up a solar panel and a couple deep cycle marine batteries to power a boom box, either mounted on a post or suspended above a pit to capture the zombies, every so often go over with a gas can and douse and burn the lot
