The group feels beaten after living life on the road, but must continue to trudge along in spite of the changes they have incurred

Hopefully this well be better than last weeks. Lauren Cohen, Tyler James Williams, & Robin Lord Taylor are on Talking Dead; which is back to it’s regular time.
Better episode tonight. I kind of like seeing the long stretches of suffering they go through between places. I would have eaten those dogs immediately as well.
when they were holding the barn door, i thought, “hhmm, sounding a bit like a tornado out there”. sure enough, they either got sideswiped by a tornado or there was a blast of straight line wind. i was somewhat amused by wind tossed zombies.
Hated it. They need to start advancing the plot. More insidious talking about how the world has changed.
Also, how do they get from Atlanta to Richmond (with two cars!) in the lead in to one episode, but can’t put together enough gasoline or water to make it from Richmond to D.C.? Why didn’t they stock up in Noah’s old neighborhood before leaving?
Yeah, when he was giving his speech about how his grandfather got through the war by believing he was dead anyway, he said that’s how they had to think about it. He said they’re the walking dead.
I was watching it thinking that it made sense to have the characters reacting to their losses, and it made sense to show them struggling with basic survival stuff like food and water…
but I just wasn’t that interested in watching it.
I also struggled with the idea that nobody, especially Daryl, would be able to find a source of water. It wasn’t like they were wandering around in the desert.
Very accommodating of the dawgs to line up barking and snarling, and dispatched easily. I, too, can’t believe they can’t find water. They know how to boil it and purify it. More trudging around in the woods! If there’s water, they just have to come across it there.
This may have been the worst episode of the series. The entire episode could have been done before the first or second commercial break: a few short scenes showing how desperate and sad they are, showing them mistrust the water, the rain, the barn, Aaron appears.
I literally fell asleep watching this (but went back to watch what I missed). Ten minutes of plot stretched to an hour. It was the worst.
But it was forced. Richmond is only 100 miles from D.C. They ran out of gas? Why didn’t they stock up on fuel and water in Noah’s old neighborhood before leaving? Michonne said that they were 60 miles away. Did they leave Richmond with both cars on empty?
Who says there was anything worth scavenging? Noah’s neighborhood looked pretty thoroughly picked over. Between whomever massacred the people there and subsequent looters, there may have been nothing worth taking but the clean shirt Michonne found.
I enjoyed the episode. But character work is more important than plot to me.
One thing. How sure are we that the midnight walker assault actually happened? It seemed like Maggie’s dream to me, perhaps influenced by the storm raging outside.
