The Walking Dead; 5.14 "Spend" (open spoilers)

exactly - Sam seems to be able to tell the difference between a threat and a threat.

Nitpick - how did Gabriel get his collar back? He threw it in the fire a few episodes back, they even showed that scene during the intro to this episode.

A little white thing like that shouldn’t be too difficult to make.

Why is Drunk Doc drinking? Is it because he’s an alcoholic, because he’s disappointed with life in general, because he’s powerless to change some unpleasant situation occurring in his own household?

IIRC, on at least two occasions, Drunk Doc has asked Rick to send his kids over for an examination. That is not necessarily a sinister situation.

The TV viewers aren’t aware of how Alexandria handles theft, fighting, or rape. They didn’t have/need a constable before Rick and Michonne took the job. Is exile (death?) the only punishment? My parents hit me so they must be killed, seems a bit harsh. Billy stole my bike so he must be killed??? Someone destroyed my owl sculpture so they must be killed??? People are less likely to report (what used to be considered) a crime if the penalty is worse than the crime.

Where oh where are the Wolves to put an end to these petty problems? hehehe

The walkers outside were gone thanks to Eugene. The ones that got Noah were inside. Once Nicholas was free (paid for with Noah’s life) all Glen had to do was turn the door and leave.

He used an old business card.

On my second viewing, I thought it was odd how persistent Drunk Doc is about Rick sending his kids over. And Sam said he wanted a gun, but not for himself. So, I don’t think Sam is being abused, but maybe Mom and/or Dad are abusing other kids and Sam is not feeling good about that. But there is something just wrong about Mom being all Cheery, Dad being all Dreary and Sam being all Leery.

Too bad everybody on the show forgot that you can smear zombie shit all over yourself and become invisible to them. Seriously, why would they ever go anywhere without immersing themselves in zombie blood and guts? I wish that method would never have been proven to be effective on the show because now they just seem like idiots for not doing it all the time.

I’m sure it’s extremely unpleasant, and I doubt it’s healthy. I expect it’s something you’ll do if you absolutely have to but not otherwise. Breaking all your friends out of Terminus? Zombie gut time. An everyday run? No, not happening.

Besides, that requires seeking out zombies in the first place.

Merle’s bike, which was used earlier in the series by Daryl, was a modified 1976 hardtail Triumph 650 Bonneville.

Daryl’s new bike is a modified 1992 Honda CB750 Nighthawk, with a Yamaha YZF-R6 front end, and Yamaha XS650 gas tank.

Ask Siri.

Thanks, Dearie!

This tangent is making me weary.

Who did she put in charge though? The people who are in charge more or less took charge. Glenn took over because the only one left was idiot boy. Abraham took over because he wasn’t going to allow the woman to die, the others started to feel the same way, hell the one guy that came back said he trusts Abraham to do a better job then he did.

I took the idea was to help get Rick back to “normal” life. She might have gotten from the others when she interviewed them that he’s a good leader, but needs a break. It also gives him a chance to talk to everyone in town to get to know them.

The sentries part I don’t get, that is rather stupid. I can kind of see keeping guns away from people, that’s something to debate.

Out of all of Rick’s group, it seems Carol is the only one that hasn’t started to adjust. She really is a bit on the crazy side. To want to outright kill someone without actually looking in to the problem. That’s not only insane, but really really bad for the rest of the group. That could give Gabriel’s words a lot more weight then they should if any one heard Carol talking like that. She’ll be the one to screw the group.

Don’t commit hara-kiri.

Yeah, they go out recruiting, but rarely take in new people. They must know there are lots of bad people out there, so it doesn’t make sense to not have sentries. They act like nothing bad has happened. They’ve never once had to fight off some marauders? It’s almost like the apocalypse just happened last month or something, and bad things are only now about to start happening. What a coincidence.

I think carol has played out the series of events to their logical conclusion in her head and she sees that ending with Rick killing him. It’s not necessarily her first instinct but from her personal experience she sees it playing out that way.

Rick will question him, he’ll deny, he’ll get out of hand, Rick will step in, he’ll fight, Rick will subdue him, he’ll come back and then Rick will have to kill or exile him. I could see that.

I got a sense that when Gabriel was talking to Janeway that he was actually talking about himself, not Rick. He may have been projecting on Rick, but he was describing himself to a T.

Without spoilers and without getting too far into the future, I wonder if there will ever be a way to eliminate all or most of the walkers. Some type of concentrated offensive to take back their area for good.

You know, I could see if maybe the doc was a pedophile. The town knows about it, but closes their eyes to it because they need his services. That would explain Sam, and why Enid wants to go over the walls.
