Yes, it does matter marketability wise, but it doesn’t matter quality wise. In fact, some of the most popular shows are shit quality wise.

I agree, good shows get cancelled all the time.
There is something to be said for pure entertainment, though. You like what you like.
Well, I decided to finally watch this episode before real-time programming resumes. And I didn’t read this thread until I’d watched the episode. That said, it seems anticlimactic for me to add my resounding ”meh” to the pile.
The characters did mostly puzzling things, artsy fartsie nonsense unnecessarily dragged things out, the scenario required magical help (Saviors go from scattered bumbling survivors to an all-powerful army fighting on three fronts), and a major character is left poised between life and death. And given all that, I can’t work up any real excitement for the re-premier.
As John Mace said (I think it was John; my apology if not), the show used to be good so I’ll keep watching — and bitching if I feel the urge — in hopes that it will become good once again. Or until I get sick of waiting and give up.
I guess we shall see whether the writers lay something worthwhile before us, or excrete something nasty instead, come Sunday.
