I begrudgingly agree about Judith. She is the only child in the area so of course she mimics her behavior on the adults that she sees.
So am I the only one that wondered when Michone said to Daryl “thanks for ‘everything’ after” meant that maybe Daryl is the father of the child in Michones house?
MtM
On Talking Dead Norman Reedus was asked about the strange scars that Daryl and Michonne have. His answer was cryptic, but he says there are some shared experiences that happened during the 6 year gap that we haven’t learned about yet. That is how I interpreted the “everything after”.
I think they telegraphed Rick as the boy’s father pretty clearly.
I still think the logistics of the whisperers is untenable, but I did quite enjoy the new aspect to fighting zombies where you aren’t 100% sure one of them won’t do a quick last second dodge and kill you. That makes dispatching any group of walkers (or even a single one) far more unnerving.
If you put yourself in the characters’ position, that additional stress probably will be permanent, where long after the threat of these specific whisperers is over, you’ll still look at every walker with a raised eyebrow. Sort of like how 9/11 permanently changed air travel.
EDIT: Oh yeah, and that final scene where the scattered walkers slowly approaching stop and stare at the two scouts? Super creepy; well done effect.
So we are all ‘done’ with The Walking Dead, now? It’s like a whole other show, with cast leaving. I thought last night’s episode ‘Choke Hold’ was (other than Henry and his romantic travails) was pretty darn good. I’m liking Brett Butler and the blacksmith and their Found Baby… That was a very well choreographed fight between ‘Beta’ and Daryl, and Norman Reedus REALLY did a great job. There’s a lot more for Daryl to do now, and though he is still not my idea of a ‘leader’, he is as kick-ass as ever. He even looked less hung-over (as he does in real life) than usual, maybe Norm sobered up some for that long fight scene… I wonder if he, Henry, and the women are going to take off on their own, that was hinted at.
You’re right, that was a great fight scene! I do still like the show, I just don’t always have time to comment.
I’m still watching too, and looking forward to seeing what they do with the Highwaymen.
My biggest question right now is why does Beta tolerate Alpha’s flaky behavior? He would be better off if she didn’t come home one evening and I’m sure he would be a good leader.
Beta is freaky scary, and the fight was really good! I’m loving the pairing of Daryl and Connie. I couldn’t believe it when I found out that Beta was played by Ryan Hurst. I never watched Sons of
Anarchy, I only know him from Remember the Titans. He’s a big ol’ boy at 6’5". He was on the Talking Dead, and he lurrves his mask. LOL!
ETA: The Highwaymen were tamed by the promise of a movie! You go Carol!
Still watching - loyal to a fault I guess.
I am enjoying the new story lines and the new characters. I think maybe a lot of people have forgotten that the show is portraying a big time jump, so of course there’s going to be new characters, and old ones will leave. I definitely prefer seeing the progression rather than the same people over and over.
Anxious to see the 3 part movie they’re making about Rick. My only question for that is, when Rick wakes up with Ann in this new community, won’t he try like hell to get back to Judith and Alexandria?
I haven’t watched this week’s episode yet, but I’m having trouble determining the motivation for the “Whisperers”. Instead of finding a stable civilization (Alexandria, the Kingdom, etc), they decide to just wear zombie masks and wander aimlessly around the countryside? Why would they do that?
Take off…die…run away with the circus. I don’t care. Just please find a way to write Henry out of this story.
You know, one has to suspend belief and logic to enjoy this program. That’s OK its fantasy and fun. But it’s really hard to imagine that Carol would raise a kid that’s so incredibly stupid.
Whether he fight’s wombies or whisperers I’m rooting against him
They also refer to walkers as Guardians.
One thing I didn’t quite understand – in the previous week’s episode, a few of the Whisperer’s were killed by the actual walkers. Wouldn’t they know how to avoid this kind of thing, by now?
Daryl was the bomb in this weeks ep. I agree about Henry. He’s gotta go. The old couple and the baby are cute. Where’s Eugene?
Daryl was wearing a mask, and maybe Connie too. So I assume they killed some guards and took their masks and then lured the walkers into the unprotected camp.
Oh, okay! My screen goes so dark I guess that I just didn’t catch that. Thanks!
I just rewatched the big fight scene from S9E13 and I don’t understand why the sheetrock walls that Daryl crashed through did not have studs in that section. Little things like that bug me.
It’s the magical construction protocols of the future, doncha know.
Well I think this one was pretty interesting. A Michonne-centred episode was about time. And having Rutina Wesley play Michonne’s old friend was a great choice! I’ve been a fan of hers since she was Tara in True Blood.
I was a little disappointed when the talkers turned out to be a bunch of Leatherface-wannabe skinjobs lead by a sadistic bald woman. Still, better than how actual talkers turned out on ZN. Beta looks very frightening, though. Nice job by the crew on his makeup
